Say Hello, Ms. Mack!

By Jeffrey Hertzberg and Travis (Ms. Hutcherson)

When Ms. Mack was young she likes going on vacations and doing lots of family things. One of her favorite things to do was play school. In her basement, she would have a chalkboard and a ruler, she would pretend that the stairs were the students. When the students did something wrong she would rap one of the stairs with her ruler.

Deshira Mack was born on October 14th, 1955. Soon she will be forty-three! Her parent's names are Dr. and Mrs. Charles H. Mack. She has one brother, his name is Carleton Mack. He lives in Delfried, Virginia. She also has one sister, her name is Sharlina Hives, and she lives in Durham, North Carolina. Deshera Mack's favorite subject in school was history. She wanted to be a teacher when she grew up.

Her main job here at Seawell is to make sure that the children are safe. She supervises about 85 people including teachers, teacher's assistants, cafeteria staff, and anyone else that works at the school. Her favorite part of her job is getting to meet the students. Sometimes, she doesnít get out and walk around because of meetings or paperwork. The hardest part of her job is suspending and expelling kids. She thinks that telling the kids what their pusnishment is the hard thin to do.

The Color of Purple is Dr. Hill

By Jane Hannon and Jessie Schrubbe (Dr. Hill)

We found out why Dr. Hill loves purple!!! Surprise!! She loves purple because once she knew an old woman who was dying who gave purple to her. She loves purple because of that.

Dr. Hill teaches a 4th grade class at Seawell Elementary School. She was born in Chicago. She has taught here for 24 years. She likes her students and she finds it interesting to know what they like. The part she doesn't like about her job as teacher is unnecessary paperwork. When she grew up, she wanted to be a movie star. She enjoys science. Playing in the creek, tree climbing, and bike riding kept her busy when she was a kid. She hopes that the new middle school that will be built is a big success and she wants UNC to work with the school system. She wants her students to like understand themselves and try their hardest in school.

Dr. Hill is a great teacher! She is a very nice person!! She is a lot of help and a super teacher. Now, give Dr. Hill a big hand for being the best teacher ever!!!

What's Cooking at Seawell School
By Charlesse Brown (Ms. Hutcherson)

Mrs. Amy Lyons manages our cafeteria. The hardest part of her job is making sure that the cafeteria has enough food to serve lunch to everyone. It is good thing that her favorite subject in school was math because she uses it a lot now. The best part of her job is making sure that every child at school is fed. Mrs. Lyons does not want anyone to be

Did you know that she wanted to be a nurse when she was a little girl? Well, now she is taking good care of us. How did she get to be the head of the cafeteria? Her favorite time as a little girl was when she was learning how to cook.

Mrs. Lyons thinks that Seawell is a great school and that there are some great people that are here. She thinks that we need to understand one another to let the school prosper. She wants the children to know that she wants the cafeteria to be there for them. But, we all need to cooperate. We appreciate your work, Mrs. Lyons.

Ms. Palladino, Our Critter Corner Creator

By Andrew Krawchyk and Beau Long (Mrs. McCrystal)

Critter Corner Baby Goat is wondering why Andrew and Beau are taking a picture.

Did you know what Ms. Palladino wanted to become when she was a little girl? She wanted to be teacher. Her dream came true. Her favorite time when she was kid was when she was in elementary school and she really loved English and History. This is a good thing because now she is a reading teacher at an elementary school. She is glad that she has the Critter Corner because she likes to take her students in to see and talk to the animals. The hardest part of her job use to be taking care of the animals. Taking care of animals is a lot of work and a lot of responsibility, but now the parents are helping. She is very thankful for the parent's help. She is happy at Seawell School and she hopes all the kids will be able to read well and that they will feel good about themselves. Ms. Meg Turner... Who is She? What does She Think? What does She Do?

By Luke Miller (Ms. Hutcherson)

This is not Ms. Turner. This would be all of us without Ms. Turner.

What do you think Ms. Turner wanted to be when she was a kid? Anxious to find out? Well guess what? Iím not telling! Not! Here's the answer that you've all been waiting for! The answer is... Oops I forgot, wait one second. Drum Roll!! The answer is an artist! Wouldn't you think that she would have wanted to work with computers or maybe an engineer?

Meg Turner is our person that helps the school with technology or should I say our technology person. Ms. Meg Turner says "My favorite part of my job is working on creative designs such as putting designs on the Internet and especially working with kids". She says that she wants children to know that you can't stop learning and that you can figure out things if you don't give up. What are her hopes for the kids at school? She hopes that we all including her learn more about technology. Ms. Turner wants to be the best that she can be. Here comes the obvious question. What is Ms. Turner favorite time of the year? Pretty easy...It is summer. The hardest thing about her job is when she doesn't have the technology to figure out a problem or a question. Last question... Are you ready? What was Ms. Turner's favorite subject in school? You're right! It was Math and Writing. That's the end of the Ms. Meg Turner Update.
