Step 1: Describe Your Current Situation
 

Technology Skills and Curriculum Integration


Currently, how do the students at your school learn technology skills? How are the skills integrated in the curriculum? As a team describe your school's skill development and curriculum integration program in six to eight sentences that would give the reader a clear picture of the current situation.


1. Weekly technology lessons are provided to small groups of fifth graders, by the Technology Specialist.

2. Students are offered assistance on technology-integrated classroom projects, on a consultation basis with the Technology Specialist.

3. Teachers meet and plan technology-integrated units individually or in small groups, with the Technology Specialist.

4. The Technology Specialist provides model lessons for classes as necessary.

5. The Technology and Media Center Specialist work together to assist students in the Media Center as necessary.

6. Classroom teachers integrate technology into their classroom activities, and students are taught the tools, such as spreadsheet and graphing programs, as necessary.

7. Keyboarding skills are emphasized and time is set aside to practice at the third grade level.
