podcast: let yourself in the library

They will recognize you are a librarian by the ribbons and burning sticks in your hair. Librarians walk their own planks and find hidden treasure. We know there are miracles to behold, and horizons to rise against. We chart the stars we use to move from here to there with a mind sometimes heavy like perfume, sometimes sharp like a hook. And sometimes we are won over by bad ideas that are like scars that go all the way through, and then mutiny touches us the wrong way but in the best places.

designing better libraries

Hot Topics: Designing Better Libraires

Designing Better Libraries is a blog about design thinking and how it applies to library settings. The goal of this blog is to provide information, news and ideas that librarians can use to design a great library user experience for their communities. Among the topics we’ll be covering are instructional design, innovation, technology design, and the application of new media to design - and of course - design thinking.

podcast: delivering the goods

People will want to go to the library when they realize that the library has the resources they desire, as well as quality information they don’t even know about but they know that the librarians do, and they know that librarians will share with them, and consistently deliver the goods.
