START THE NEW YEAR WITH A SMILE!

There are four openings for the 1 to 2 p.m. class, and two openings for the 3 to 4 p.m. class. If you're already on a standby basis for another class, or if you are not registered for a class, you may request moving into one of these spots. Check with your supervisor, then call ext. 3989 to sign up.

OTHER CLASSES. The previously scheduled classes have the following openings:

- Intro to Word 6.0, Part II, 1 to 4 p.m. Jan. 8: two spaces available - PC Basics, 3 to 4 p.m. Jan. 15, two spaces available

- Cc-mail, 9 to 11 a.m. Jan. 17, three spaces available

If you would like to sign up for any of these classes, call ext. 3989. TYPING TUTORIALS. Learn to type or improve your keyboarding skills.

Typing Tutor classes will be offered from 11 a.m. to noon, and from noon to 1 p.m. each Monday through Friday. If you would like to sign up, complete a registration form, available from the administrative assistant in your area, and send it to the Computer Learning Lab.

OPERATION SHARE. As announced at the November benefits meetings, for the first time since the Express-News began Operation Share, the plan's costs were over budget (employees had more medical expenses than were estimated) during 1996. Because of this, there were no Operation Share cost savings to share with employees. Let's all hope for a healthy 1997 for everyone!

EMPLOYEE DIRECTORIES. The new employee phone directories are being delivered this week. Updated directories will be published every three months. If you have corrections or additions, please give them to Kay Simpson, ext. 3995 or 250-3977 fax. Changes will be noted in the Weekly Bulletin.

ENSIDE SOURCE. Newsletters have been mailed. If you have not received your issue by the end of the week, please call Kay Simpson, ext. 3995, or contact one of the ENside Source correspondents: Norma Hayes, Advertising; Tina Lozano, Circulation; Darren Stansbury, Classified Advertising; Lea Kochanek, Community Relations; Gloria Ortega, Credit; Eli Rivas, Human Resources; Lucy Monita, MIS; B. Lou Guckian, Marketing; Cynthia Martinez or Diana Tristan, News; or Mary Jessie Saldana, Operations.
