Prospect Research Manager (Full-time)

The Morgan Library & Museum invites applications for the position of
Prospect Research Manager. This position is responsible for managing
the prospecting and research efforts related to the Morgan’s
membership, annual fund and major gifts fund-raising. The Prospect
Research Manager will identify and qualify potential major donor
prospects and prepare biographical and business profiles and related
information on donors necessary for their solicitation and
stewardship. He/she will build prospect groups and recommend
engagement strategies for potential segmentation. This position will
also serve as a tactical and strategic advisor to the development
efforts of the Morgan. The position will report to the Director of
Institutional Advancement.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree
2 years of development experience
1 or more years experience in prospect research in a higher education
or a cultural institution setting
Keen understanding of wealth indicators

·      Thorough working knowledge of all Microsoft Office products and
a donor database system

·      Experience in the use of Wealth Engine, Foundation Center,
Guidestar and similar online research tools

Able to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment

·      Self-starter with strong organizational skills; proven ability
to handle multiple projects, meet deadlines and maintain clear and
consistent communication

·      Versatility, flexibility and a willingness to work within
constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm

·      Excellent relationship management, interpersonal, written and
verbal communication skills

Able to work for extended periods at a computer workstation
Available for evening and weekend hours as necessary
Able to stand for long periods of time at events and programs
Able to lift moderately heavy boxes of material as needed
