The role of the University Advancement Division is to foster strong relationships with internal and external partners to enhance support for Cal Poly. University Advancement (UA) establishes and implements an overall advancement program, including coordinating fundraising, communications, government and community relations, marketing and alumni programs.
Under the general direction of the Director of Prospect Management and Research, this position has programmatic responsibility for prospect research, proactive prospecting, prospect management, and reporting in relation to the general fundraising initiatives at Cal Poly. The position will build, evaluate, maintain and rate a qualified pool of prospects using wealth screening data and other available tools. The Prospect Research Specialist will provide analysis of the comprehensive research program, including identification and/or strategic research and analysis of top-tier donor prospects, corporations, foundation and key volunteers in the support of University Advancement. The position serves as a campus contact and resource for information regarding major donors and prospects and applies independent judgment to make decisions and interpret policies and procedures necessary for the identification, evaluation and tracking of major gift prospects and donors. The incumbent will also provide recommendations, and commitments in completing assigned duties and to handle administrative tasks in support of the day-to-day program efforts of the department.
Salary Range $3,245 – $5,193, plus any negotiated salary increase for which this position may be eligible.
