What Comes After The Anger?

I feel your outrage as you pour through the streets
I see the parade of fire, hate, and police
but when you go back to your daily routine
just what does your outrage mean?...

what comes after the anger?

in factory towns they've started bulldozing lives
while urban neighbourhoods seem lost in their demise
this is the cost of years of compromise
and it's not enough just to open your eyes,
I want to know

what comes after the anger?...

and in this country full of boasts
about its wealth and magnitude
can we agree there's no excuse
for all the selfishness and abuse...

tell me what comes after the anger?

aren't you tired of bullets flying,
cities burning and children dying,

losing your job and going on welfare,
'til all you have left is your blank stare?

"how long, not long" cried the prophet
but do we have the sense to stop it?

for all this talk of revolution
is pointless without resolution.
