Verse 1
śhrī bhagavān uvācha
bhūya eva mahā-bāho śhṛiṇu me paramaṁ vachaḥ
yatte ’haṁ prīyamāṇāya vakṣhyāmi hita-kāmyayā
śhrī-bhagavān uvācha
the Blessed Lord said
bhūyaḥ eva mahā-bāho śhṛiṇu me paramam vachaḥ
again verily mighty armed one hear my divine teachings
yat te aham prīyamāṇāya vakṣhyāmi hita-kāmyayā
which to you I you are my beloved confidant say for desiring your welfare
---
The Lord said, "Further, O Arjuna, listen to My Supreme word. Desiring your good, I shall speak to you who loves Me."
Verse 2
na me viduḥ sura-gaṇāḥ prabhavaṁ na maharṣhayaḥ
aham ādir hi devānāṁ maharṣhīṇāṁ cha sarvaśhaḥ
na me viduḥ sura-gaṇāḥ prabhavam na mahā-ṛiṣhayaḥ
neither my know the celestial gods origin nor the great sages
aham ādiḥ hi devānām mahā-ṛiṣhīṇām cha sarvaśhaḥ
I the source certainly of the celestial gods of the great seers also in every way
---
Neither the host of gods nor the great sages know My power; for I am indeed the source of the gods and the great sages.
Verse 3
yo māmajam anādiṁ cha vetti loka-maheśhvaram
asammūḍhaḥ sa martyeṣhu sarva-pāpaiḥ pramuchyate
verseyaḥ mām ajam anādim cha vetti
who me unborn beginningless and know
loka mahā-īśhvaram asammūḍhaḥ saḥ martyeṣhu sarva-pāpaiḥ pramuchyate
of the universe the Supreme Lord undeluded they among mortals from all evils are freed from-3
---
He who knows Me as unborn, without a beginning, and the great Lord of the worlds—he among mortals is undeluded and is released from all sin.
Verse 4
buddhir jñānam asammohaḥ kṣhamā satyaṁ damaḥ śhamaḥ
sukhaṁ duḥkhaṁ bhavo ’bhāvo bhayaṁ chābhayameva cha
buddhiḥ jñānam asammohaḥ kṣhamā satyam damaḥ śhamaḥ
intellect knowledge clarity of thought forgiveness truthfulness control over the senses control of the mind
sukham duḥkham bhavaḥ abhāvaḥ bhayam cha abhayam eva cha
joy sorrow birth death fear and courage certainly and
---
Intelligence, knowledge, non-delusion, forbearance, truth, restraint, self-control, pleasure, pain, exaltation, and depression, fear, and fearlessness;
Verse 5
ahiṁsā samatā tuṣṭis tapo dānaṁ yaśo 'yaśaḥ bhavanti bhāvā bhūtānāṁ matta eva pṛthag-vidhāḥ
ahiṁsā samatā tuṣṭiḥ tapaḥ dānam yaśaḥ ayaśaḥ bhavanti bhāvāḥ bhūtānām mattaḥ eva pṛthakvidhāḥ
nonviolence equilibrium satisfaction penance charity fame infamy become natures of living entities from Me certainly differently arranged.
---
Non-violence, reality, cheerfulness, austerity, beneficence, fame, and infamy—these different qualities of beings arise from Me alone.
Verse 6
maharṣhayaḥ sapta pūrve chatvāro manavas tathā
mad-bhāvā mānasā jātā yeṣhāṁ loka imāḥ prajāḥ
mahā-ṛiṣhayaḥ sapta pūrve chatvāraḥ manavaḥ tathā
the great Sages seven before four Manus also
mat bhāvāḥ mānasāḥ jātāḥ yeṣhām loke imāḥ prajāḥ
are born from me mind born from them in the world all these people
---
The seven great seers of yore, as well as the four Manus, all possessing My mental disposition, were born from My mind. All these creatures of the world are descended from them.
Verse 7
etāṁ vibhūtiṁ yogaṁ cha mama yo vetti tattvataḥ
so ’vikampena yogena yujyate nātra sanśhayaḥ
etām vibhūtim yogam cha mama yaḥ vetti tattvataḥ
these glories divine powers and my those who know in truth
saḥ avikalpena yogena yujyate na atra sanśhayaḥ
they unwavering in bhakti yog becomes united never here doubt

He who truly knows this supreme manifestation and splendor of My auspicious attributes, becomes united with the unshakeable Yoga of Bhakti—there is no doubt of this.
Verse 8
ahaṁ sarvasya prabhavo mattaḥ sarvaṁ pravartate
iti matvā bhajante māṁ budhā bhāva-samanvitāḥ
aham sarvasya prabhavaḥ mattaḥ sarvam pravartate
I of all creation the origin of from me everything proceeds
iti matvā bhajante mām budhāḥ bhāva-samanvitāḥ
thus having known worship me the wise endowed with great faith and devotion
---
I am the origin of all; from me everything proceeds. Thinking thus, the wise worship me with all devotion (Bhava).
Verse 9
mach-chittā mad-gata-prāṇā bodhayantaḥ parasparam
kathayantaśh cha māṁ nityaṁ tuṣhyanti cha ramanti cha
mat-chittāḥ mat-gata-prāṇāḥ bodhayantaḥ parasparam
those with minds fixed on me those who have surrendered their lives to me enlightening (with divine knowledge of God) one another
kathayantaḥ cha mām nityam tuṣhyanti cha ramanti cha
speaking and about me continously satisfaction and (they) delight also
---
With their minds focused on Me, their pranas centered in Me, inspiring one another and always speaking of Me, they live in contentment and bliss at all times.
Verse 10
teṣhāṁ satata-yuktānāṁ bhajatāṁ prīti-pūrvakam
dadāmi buddhi-yogaṁ taṁ yena mām upayānti te
teṣhām satata-yuktānām bhajatām prīti-pūrvakam
to them ever steadfast who engage in devotion with love
dadāmi buddhi-yogam tam yena mām upayānti te
I give divine knowledge that by which to me come they
---
To those who are ceaselessly united with Me and who worship Me with immense love, I lovingly grant that mental disposition (Buddhi-yoga) which leads them to Me.
Verse 11
teṣhām evānukampārtham aham ajñāna-jaṁ tamaḥ
nāśhayāmyātma-bhāva-stho jñāna-dīpena bhāsvatā
teṣhām eva anukampā-artham aham ajñāna-jam tamaḥ
for them only out of compassion I born of ignorance darkness
nāśhayāmi ātma-bhāva sthaḥ jñāna dīpena bhāsvatā
destroy within their hearts dwelling of knowledge with the lamp luminous
---
Out of compassion for them alone, I, abiding in their mental activity as its object, dispel the darkness born of ignorance with the brilliant lamp of knowledge.
Verse 12
arjuna uvācha
paraṁ brahma paraṁ dhāma pavitraṁ paramaṁ bhavān
puruṣhaṁ śhāśhvataṁ divyam ādi-devam ajaṁ vibhum
arjunaḥ uvācha
Arjun said
param brahma param dhāma pavitram paramam bhavān
Supreme Brahman Supreme Abode purifier Supreme you
puruṣham śhāśhvatam divyam ādi-devam ajam vibhum
personality Eternal Divine the Primal Being the Unborn the Great
---
Arjuna said, "You are the Supreme Brahman, the Supreme Light, and the Supreme Sanctifier. All the seers proclaim You as the eternal, divine Person, the Primal Lord, the unborn, and all-pervading. So too do the divine sages Narada, Asita, Devala, and Vyasa proclaim. You Yourself also proclaim this."
Verse 13
āhus tvām ṛiṣhayaḥ sarve devarṣhir nāradas tathā
asito devalo vyāsaḥ svayaṁ chaiva bravīṣhi me
āhuḥ tvām ṛiṣhayaḥ sarve deva-ṛiṣhiḥ-nāradaḥ tathā
(they) declare you sages all devarṣhi Narad also
asitaḥ devalaḥ vyāsaḥ svayam cha eva bravīṣhī me
Asit Deval Vyās personally and even you are declaring to me
---
Arjuna said, "You are the Supreme Brahman, the Supreme Light, and the Supreme Sanctifier. All the seers proclaim You as the eternal, divine Person, the Primal Lord, the unborn, and all-pervading. So too do the divine sages Narada, Asita, Devala, and Vyasa proclaim. You Yourself also proclaim this."
Verse 14
sarvam etad ṛitaṁ manye yan māṁ vadasi keśhava
na hi te bhagavan vyaktiṁ vidur devā na dānavāḥ
sarvam etat ṛitam manye yat mām vadasi keśhava
everything this truth I accept which me you tell Shree Krishna, the killer of the demon named Keshi
na hi te bhagavan vyaktim viduḥ devāḥ na dānavāḥ
neither verily your the Supreme Lord personality can understand the celestial gods nor the demons
---
I deem as true all that you have said to me, O Krishna. Truly, O Lord, neither the gods nor the demons know your manifestation.
Verse 15
swayam evātmanātmānaṁ vettha tvaṁ puruṣhottama
bhūta-bhāvana bhūteśha deva-deva jagat-pate
swayam eva ātmanā ātmānam vettha tvam puruṣha-uttama
yourself indeed by yourself yourself know you the Supreme Personality
bhūta-bhāvana bhūta-īśha deva-deva jagat-pate
the Creator of all beings the Lord of everything the God of gods the Lord of the universe
---
O Supreme Person, O Creator of beings, O Lord of beings, O God of gods, O Ruler of the universe, You Yourself know Yourself alone.
Verse 16
vaktum arhasyaśheṣheṇa divyā hyātma-vibhūtayaḥ
yābhir vibhūtibhir lokān imāṁs tvaṁ vyāpya tiṣhṭhasi
vaktum arhasi aśheṣheṇa divyāḥ hi ātma vibhūtayaḥ
to describe please do completely divine indeed your own opulences
yābhiḥ vibhūtibhiḥ lokān imān tvam vyāpya tiṣhṭhasi
by which opulences all worlds these you pervade reside
---
You should tell Me without reserve Your divine manifestations where You abide, pervading all these worlds.
Verse 17
kathaṁ vidyām ahaṁ yogins tvāṁ sadā parichintayan
keṣhu keṣhu cha bhāveṣhu chintyo ’si bhagavan mayā
katham vidyām aham yogin tvām sadā parichintayan
how shall I know the Supreme Master of Yogmaya you always meditating
keṣhu keṣhu cha bhāveṣhu chintyaḥ asi bhagavan mayā
in what in what and forms to be thought of the Supreme Divine Personality by me
---
How can I, Your devotee, know You by constantly meditating on You? And in what ways, O Lord, should I meditate on You?
Verse 18
vistareṇātmano yogaṁ vibhūtiṁ cha janārdana
bhūyaḥ kathaya tṛiptir hi śhṛiṇvato nāsti me ’mṛitam
vistareṇa ātmanaḥ yogam vibhūtim cha janaārdana
in detail your divine glories opulences also Shree Krishna, he who looks after the public
bhūyaḥ kathaya tṛiptiḥ hi śhṛiṇvataḥ na asti me amṛitam
again describe satisfaction because hearing not is my nectar

Speak to me again in full, O Krishna, about Your attributes and glories. For I am not sated by hearing Your ambrosial words.
Verse 19
śhrī bhagavān uvācha
hanta te kathayiṣhyāmi divyā hyātma-vibhūtayaḥ
prādhānyataḥ kuru-śhreṣhṭha nāstyanto vistarasya me
śhrī-bhagavān uvācha
the Blessed Lord spoke
hanta te kathayiṣhyāmi divyāḥ hi ātma-vibhūtayaḥ
yes to you I shall describe divine certainly my divine glories
prādhānyataḥ kuru-śhreṣhṭha na asti antaḥ vistarasya me
salient best of the Kurus not is limit extensive glories my
---
The Lord said, "Indeed, I shall tell you, O Arjuna, My auspicious manifestations—those that are most prominent among them. There is no end to their extent."
Verse 20
aham ātmā guḍākeśha sarva-bhūtāśhaya-sthitaḥ
aham ādiśh cha madhyaṁ cha bhūtānām anta eva cha
aham ātmā guḍākeśha sarva-bhūta āśhaya-sthitaḥ
I soul Arjun, the conqueror of sleep of all living entities seated in the heart
aham ādiḥ cha madhyam cha bhūtānām antaḥ eva cha
I the beginning and middle and of all beings end even also
---
I am the Self, O Arjuna, dwelling in the hearts of all beings; I am the beginning, the middle, and the end of all beings.
Verse 21
ādityānām ahaṁ viṣhṇur jyotiṣhāṁ ravir anśhumān
marīchir marutām asmi nakṣhatrāṇām ahaṁ śhaśhī
ādityānām aham viṣhṇuḥ jyotiṣhām raviḥ anśhu-mān
amongst the twelve sons of Aditi I Lord Vishnu amongst luminous objects the sun radiant
marīchiḥ marutām asmi nakṣhatrāṇām aham śhaśhī
Marichi of the Maruts (I) am amongst the stars I the moon
---
Of the Adityas, I am Vishnu; of luminous bodies, I am the radiant sun. Of the Maruts, I am Marici, and among the constellations, I am the moon.
Verse 22
vedānāṁ sāma-vedo ’smi devānām asmi vāsavaḥ
indriyāṇāṁ manaśh chāsmi bhūtānām asmi chetanā
vedānām sāma-vedaḥ asmi devānām asmi vāsavaḥ̣
amongst the Vedas the Sāma Veda I am of all the celestial gods I am Indra
indriyāṇām manaḥ ca asmi bhūtānām asmi chetanā
of amongst the senses the mind and I am amongst the living beings I am consciousness

rudrāṇāṁ śhaṅkaraśh chāsmi vitteśho yakṣha-rakṣhasām
vasūnāṁ pāvakaśh chāsmi meruḥ śhikhariṇām aham
rudrāṇām śhaṅkaraḥ cha asmi vitta-īśhaḥ yakṣha rakṣhasām
amongst the Rudras Lord Shiv and I am the god of wealth and the treasurer of the celestial gods amongst the semi-divine demons amongst the demons
vasūnām pāvakaḥ cha asmi meruḥ śhikhariṇām aham
amongst the Vasus Agni (fire) and I am Mount Meru amongst the mountains I am
---
Of the Rudras, I am Sankara. Of the Yaksas and Raksasas, I am the Lord of Wealth (Kubera). Of the Vasus, I am Agni; of the mountains, I am Meru.
Verse 24
purodhasāṁ cha mukhyaṁ māṁ viddhi pārtha bṛihaspatim
senānīnām ahaṁ skandaḥ sarasām asmi sāgaraḥ
purodhasām cha mukhyam mām viddhi pārtha bṛihaspatim
amongst priests and the chiefs me know Arjun, the son of Pritha Brihaspati
senānīnām aham skandaḥ sarasām asmi sāgaraḥ
warrior chief I Kartikeya amongst reservoirs of water I am the ocean
---
Among family priests, O Arjuna, know Me to be the chief Brhaspati; of generals, I am Skanda; of reservoirs of water, I am the ocean.
Verse 25
maharṣhīṇāṁ bhṛigur ahaṁ girām asmyekam akṣharam
yajñānāṁ japa-yajño ’smi sthāvarāṇāṁ himālayaḥ
mahā-ṛiṣhīṇām bhṛiguḥ aham girām asmi ekam akṣharam
among the great seers Bhrigu I amongst chants I am the syllable Om
yajñānām japa-yajñaḥ asmi sthāvarāṇām himālayaḥ
of sacrifices sacrifice of the devotional repetition of the divine names of God I am amongst immovable things the Himalayas
---
Of the great seers, I am Bhrgu; of words, I am the single-lettered word Om; of sacrifices, I am the sacrifice of Japa; of immovable things, I am the Himalayas.
Verse 26
aśhvatthaḥ sarva-vṛikṣhāṇāṁ devarṣhīṇāṁ cha nāradaḥ
gandharvāṇāṁ chitrarathaḥ siddhānāṁ kapilo muniḥ
aśhvatthaḥ sarva-vṛikṣhāṇām deva-ṛiṣhīṇām cha nāradaḥ
the banyan tree amongst all trees amongst celestial sages and Narad
gandharvāṇām chitrarathaḥ siddhānām kapilaḥ muniḥ
amongst the gandharvas Chitrarath of all those who are perfected sage Kapil
---
Of trees I am the Asvattha; of celestial seers, I am Narada; of the Gandharvas, I am Citraratha; of the perfected, I am Kapila.
Verse 27
uchchaiḥśhravasam aśhvānāṁ viddhi mām amṛitodbhavam
airāvataṁ gajendrāṇāṁ narāṇāṁ cha narādhipam
uchchaiḥśhravasam aśhvānām viddhi mām amṛita-udbhavam
Uchchaihshrava amongst horses know me begotten from the churning of the ocean of nectar
airāvatam gaja-indrāṇām narāṇām cha nara-adhipam
Airavata amongst all lordly elephants amongst humans and the king
---
Of horses, know Me to be Uccaihsravas, the nectar-born. Of lordly elephants, I am Airavata, and of men, I am the monarch.
Verse 28
āyudhānām ahaṁ vajraṁ dhenūnām asmi kāmadhuk
prajanaśh chāsmi kandarpaḥ sarpāṇām asmi vāsukiḥ
āyudhānām aham vajram dhenūnām asmi kāma-dhuk
amongst weapons I the Vajra (thunderbolt) amongst cows I am Kamdhenu
prajanaḥ cha asmi kandarpaḥ sarpāṇām asmi vāsukiḥ
amongst causes for procreation and I am Kaamdev, the god of love amongst serpents I am serpent Vasuki

Of weapons, I am the Vajra (thunderbolt); of cows, I am Kamadhuk; I am Kandarpa, the cause of progeny; of serpents, I am Vasuki.
Verse 29
anantaśh chāsmi nāgānāṁ varuṇo yādasām aham
pitṝīṇām aryamā chāsmi yamaḥ sanyamatām aham
anantaḥ cha asmi nāgānām varuṇaḥ yādasām aham
Anant and I am amongst snakes the celestial god of the ocean amongst aquatics I
pitṝīṇām aryamā cha asmi yamaḥ sanyamatām aham
amongst the departed ancestors Aryama and am the celestial god of death amongst dispensers of law I
---
Of snakes, I am Ananta; of aquatic beings, I am Varuna; of manes, I am Aryama; of subduers, I am Yama.
Verse 30
prahlādaśh chāsmi daityānāṁ kālaḥ kalayatām aham
mṛigāṇāṁ cha mṛigendro ’haṁ vainateyaśh cha pakṣhiṇām
prahlādaḥ cha asmi daityānām kālaḥ kalayatām aham
Prahlad and I am of the demons time of all that controls I
mṛigāṇām cha mṛiga-indraḥ aham vainateyaḥ cha pakṣhiṇām
amongst animals and the lion I Garud and amongst birds
---
Of Daityas, I am Prahlada; of reckoners, I am Death; of beasts, I am the lion; and of birds, I am Garuda, the son of Vinata.
Verse 31
pavanaḥ pavatām asmi rāmaḥ śhastra-bhṛitām aham
jhaṣhāṇāṁ makaraśh chāsmi srotasām asmi jāhnavī
pavanaḥ pavatām asmi rāmaḥ śhastra-bhṛitām aham
the wind of all that purifies I am Ram of the carriers of weapons I am
jhaṣhāṇām makaraḥ cha asmi srotasām asmi jāhnavī
of all acquatics crocodile also I am of flowing rivers I am the Ganges
---
Of moving things, I am the wind; of those who bear weapons, I am Rama; of fishers, I am Makara; and of rivers, I am the Ganga.
Verse 32
sargāṇām ādir antaśh cha madhyaṁ chaivāham arjuna
adhyātma-vidyā vidyānāṁ vādaḥ pravadatām aham
sargāṇām ādiḥ antaḥ cha madhyam cha eva aham arjuna
of all creations the beginning end and middle and indeed I Arjun
adhyātma-vidyā vidyānām vādaḥ pravadatām aham
science of spirituality amongst sciences the logical conclusion of debates I
---
Of creatures, I am the beginning, the middle, and the end, O Arjuna. Of sciences, I am the science of the Self (of the individual and Universal Self). Of those who argue, I am the fair reasoning.
Verse 33
akṣharāṇām a-kāro ’smi dvandvaḥ sāmāsikasya cha
aham evākṣhayaḥ kālo dhātāhaṁ viśhvato-mukhaḥ
akṣharāṇām a-kāraḥ asmi dvandvaḥ sāmāsikasya cha
amongst all letters the beginning letter “A” I am the dual amongst grammatical compounds and
aham eva akṣhayaḥ kālaḥ dhātā aham viśhwataḥ-mukhaḥ
I only endless time amongst the creators I Brahma

Of letters, I am the alphabet 'A'; of compound words, I am the dvandva (copulative); I am myself imperishable time; I am the creator, facing all sides.
Verse 34
mṛityuḥ sarva-haraśh chāham udbhavaśh cha bhaviṣhyatām
kīrtiḥ śhrīr vāk cha nārīṇāṁ smṛitir medhā dhṛitiḥ kṣhamā
mṛityuḥ sarva-haraḥ cha aham udbhavaḥ cha bhaviṣhyatām
death all-devouring and I the origin and those things that are yet to be
kīrtiḥ śhrīḥ vāk cha nārīṇām smṛitiḥ medhā dhṛitiḥ kṣhamā
fame prospective fine speech and amongst feminine qualities memory intelligence courage forgiveness
---
I am also death, which snatches away all. I am the origin of all that will be born. Among women, I am fame, prosperity, speech, memory, intelligence, endurance, and forgiveness.
Verse 35
bṛihat-sāma tathā sāmnāṁ gāyatrī chhandasām aham
māsānāṁ mārga-śhīrṣho ’ham ṛitūnāṁ kusumākaraḥ
bṛihat-sāma tathā sāmnām gāyatrī chhandasām aham
the Brihatsama also amongst the hymns in the Sama Veda the Gayatri mantra amongst poetic meters I
māsānām mārga-śhīrṣhaḥ aham ṛitūnām kusuma-ākaraḥ
of the twelve months the month of November-December I of all seasons spring

Of Saman hymns, I am the Brhatsaman; of meters, I am the Gayatri; of months, I am Margasira (Nov-Dec); and of seasons, I am the season of flowers.
Verse 36
dyūtaṁ chhalayatām asmi tejas tejasvinām aham
jayo ’smi vyavasāyo ’smi sattvaṁ sattvavatām aham
dyūtam chhalayatām asmi tejaḥ tejasvinām aham
gambling of all cheats I am the splendor of the splendid I
jayaḥ asmi vyavasāyaḥ asmi sattvam sattva-vatām aham
victory I am firm resolve I am virtue of the virtuous I
---
Of the fraudulent, I am gambling; I am the brilliance of the brilliant; I am victory, I am effort; I am the magnanimity of the magnanimous.
Verse 37
vṛiṣhṇīnāṁ vāsudevo ’smi pāṇḍavānāṁ dhanañjayaḥ
munīnām apyahaṁ vyāsaḥ kavīnām uśhanā kaviḥ
vṛiṣhṇīnām vāsudevaḥ asmi pāṇḍavānām dhanañjayaḥ
amongst the descendants of Vrishni Krishna, the son of Vasudev I am amongst the Pandavas Arjun, the conqueror of wealth
munīnām api aham vyāsaḥ kavīnām uśhanā kaviḥ
amongst the sages also I Ved Vyas amongst the great thinkers Shukracharya the thinker

Of the Vrsnis, I am Vasudeva; of the Pandavas, I am Arjuna; of sages, I am Vyasa; and of seers, I am Usana (Sukra).
Verse 38
daṇḍo damayatām asmi nītir asmi jigīṣhatām
maunaṁ chaivāsmi guhyānāṁ jñānaṁ jñānavatām aham
daṇḍaḥ damayatām asmi nītiḥ asmi jigīṣhatām
punishment amongst means of preventing lawlessness I am proper conduct I am amongst those who seek victory
maunam cha eva asmi guhyānām jñānam jñāna-vatām aham
silence and also I am amongst secrets wisdom in the wise I
---
Of those who punish, I am the principle of punishment. Of those who seek victory, I am policy. Of secrets, I am also silence. And of the wise, I am wisdom.
Verse 39
yach chāpi sarva-bhūtānāṁ bījaṁ tad aham arjuna
na tad asti vinā yat syān mayā bhūtaṁ charācharam
yat cha api sarva-bhūtānām bījam tat aham arjuna
which and also of all living beings generating seed that I Arjun
na tat asti vinā yat syāt mayā bhūtam chara-acharam
not that is without which may exist me creature moving and nonmoving
---
I am also that which is the seed of all beings, O Arjuna. Nothing that moves or does not move exists without Me.
Verse 40
nānto ’sti mama divyānāṁ vibhūtīnāṁ parantapa
eṣha tūddeśhataḥ prokto vibhūter vistaro mayā
na antaḥ asti mama divyānām vibhūtīnām parantapa
not end is my divine manifestations Arjun, the conqueror of the enemies
eṣhaḥ tu uddeśhataḥ proktaḥ vibhūteḥ vistaraḥ mayā
this but just one portion declared of (my) glories the breath of the topic by me

There is no limit to My divine manifestations. Here, I have briefly described the extent of such manifestations.
Verse 41
yad yad vibhūtimat sattvaṁ śhrīmad ūrjitam eva vā
tat tad evāvagachchha tvaṁ mama tejo ’nśha-sambhavam
yat yat vibhūtimat sattvam śhrī-mat ūrjitam eva vā
whatever opulent being beautiful glorious also or
tat tat eva avagachchha tvam mama tejaḥ-anśha-sambhavam anśha sambhavam
all that only know you my splendor a part born of
---
Whatever being is possessed of power, or splendour, or energy, know that as coming from a fragment of My power.
Verse 42
atha vā bahunaitena kiṁ jñātena tavārjuna
viṣhṭabhyāham idaṁ kṛitsnam ekānśhena sthito jagat
athavā bahunā etena kim jñātena tava arjuna
or detailed by this what can be known by you Arjun
viṣhṭabhya aham idam kṛitsnam eka anśhena sthitaḥ jagat
pervade and support I this entire by one fraction am situated creation

But of what use is all this extensive knowledge to you, O Arjuna? I sustain this whole universe with only a fragment of My power.
