Azhwar talks about two relationships between Perumal and a Jivatma in the ten pasurams on Thiruthulaivillimangalam. They are:
- Relationship between Father and Son
- The object that tries to know the ultimate truth and the ultimate truth itself (adiyen is not able to express this relationship with appropriate and crisp
terminologies in English)
Father and Son Relationship
Azhwar reiterates this relationship in the pasuram,
sindhaiyaalum sollaalum seygaiyinaalum dEvapirAnaiyE
thandhai thaayenRadaindha vaNkurugooravar
satakOpan?..
The same fact is reiterated by Kulasekara Perumal in his pasuram on ThirvithuvakkOdu,
tharuthuyaram thadaayElun saraNallaal saraNillai
viraikuzhuvu malarppozhilsoozh viRRuvakkOttammaanE
arisinatthaal eenRathaay akaRRitinum maRRavaLthan
aruLninainthE yazhumkuzhavi athuvEpOn RirunthEnE ?. (Perumal Thirumozhi 5.1)
The object that tries to know the ultimate truth and the ultimate truth itself
Azhwar expresses this relationship in the pasuram,
thirundhu vEdhamum vELviyum thirumaamagaLirum thaam,malinN,
thirundhu vaazhporunal vadakaraivaN thulaivillimangalam,
karundhatangkaNNi kaithozhutha annaaLt hotangiyinNnaaLdhoRum,
irundhirundhu aravindha lOsana! enREn REnNaindhi rangumE (TVM
6.5.8)
Once the soul realizes Perumal, it always contemplates on Him. The word karundhatangkaNNi refers to the soul?s jnAnam. Kanni refers to nayaki who has realized Perumal completely. Kulasekara Perumal discusses the same relationship in the following pasuram:
senthazhalE
vanthazhalais seythitinum sengamalam
antharancEr vengathirOR kallaa lalaraavaal
venthuyarveet taavidinum viRRuvakkOt tammaaun
anthamilseerk kallaa lakanguzhaiya maattEnE (Perumal Thirumozhi 5.6)
The words sengamalam (lotus) and vengathirOr (sun) refer to the soul and Perumal respectively. Lotus will always blossoms in the sun light, similarly the soul also blossoms with the realization of Perumal.
