SrI:

Dear Srimathi KalivANi:

Regarding your question about the disappearance of
Krishna after Raasa Leela , here is the answer:

The Gopis enjoyed the Raasa Kreeda and felt that
it was there beauty that held Krishna captive.
They got proud about their physical charms.
Krishna decided to remind them that egotism
does not help to reach Him ( SrImad BhAgavatham:
Tenth Canto: Chapters 29 through 32 cover
the disappearance of Krishna after Raasa Leela ,
Gopi's anguish and their heartfelt prayer for
the Lord to reappear after lamenting about their
folly).

Githa Govindham has passages about this aspect.

Saint ThyagarAja has composed a dance drama
named NoukA Charithram on the same theme
of Gopi Garva Bhangam and the Lord's anugraham to
them once they recognized their folly.
The postings of NoukA Charithram are in the Bhakthi archives .

We reach the Lord through His anugraham .
Any one who thinks like the Gopis at one time
that it was their charm and beauty that won KrishNa
will not acces the Lord until they give up
their egotism and pray sincerely for His anugraham.

That is the moral oft he story,
V. Sadagopan
