Dear Sri Sadagopan Swamy, We are fortunate to hear and enjoy in proxy your 80 hours of divyadesa darsana bhoga bhagyam in detail in the coming series of postings. >Here the Lord wears Sankham on His right hand and the Chakram on the left >hand . This is a reversal of the positions of Sankhu and Chakram that >are normally seen. The Sankham on the right hand is denoting the >conferral of Jn~Anam to devotees. In our Sri Venugopalakrishna swamy temple in Malleswaram also we have Sri Nambi Narayanar sannidhi where the moolavar and utsavar both have Sankha Chakra interchanged. I am given to understand that this is supposed to be Acharyan Tirukkolam where He is ready to do Samasrayanam ritual to the disciples. When He does that Samasrayanam tApam simultaneously, the right hand Sankham embosses the left shoulder and the left hand chakra embosses the right shoulder of the disciple respectively.
