AchArya hridhayam 62

Thus it is observed that AzhwAr’s emotional bhakthi does not fit into any standard normal definition of bhakthi cult.

This is likened to the saying “adhyantha bhakthi ukthAnAm na sAsthram naivchakram’

Those with intense and deep devotion do not fit into any shashthric definitions of bhakthi. Hence, since AzhwAr’s bhakthi no doubt is extremely an emotional experience and devotion, it is but natural that it does not fit into normal kind of standard bhakthi.

Thus it was explained that AzhwAr speaks in His voice when philosophical and when in extreme love and affection speaks in feminine accent. It was also seen that such feminine accent is not strange but only natural to the soul. And further seen that AzhwArt’s experience is similar to that of pirAtti and the bhakthi and devotion of AzhwAr is not commonplace but extreme one and hence does not fit into the normal nature and definiton of bhakthi.
