Deemed
dhivya-dhEsam
When AzhwAr-s sing in praise of the Lord of
any place the place becomes divine and becomes a -dhivya-dhEsam.
The name of the dhivya-dhEsam is genrally spelt
out clearly in the AzhwAr-s thiruppAsuangaL and the identification is
easy.
Even if one of the pAsuram-s are not so
transaprent, pAsuram by some other AzhwAr-s can be resorted
to.
What happens when there is only one pAsuram but
does not spell out the name of the place in a categorical
manner?
The commentaries which reflect the inner thought
of AzhwArs have to be resorted to.
The An-mugan thiruvandhAdhip pAsuram -50
spells out :
"..ARRam karaik kidakkum
kaNNan kadal kidakkum..." and the
vyAkyAnam by sri periyavAchAn piLLai which is the reflection of the thoughts of
pUrvAchAryA-s and the inner thought of thiru-mazhisai AzhwAr, attributes and
deems this to the dhivya-dhESam -kavithalam.
Is it not then a dhivya-dhEsam -not just
attributed but deemed dhivya-dhEsam-though not openly mentioned in the
pAsuram.
Some pAsuram-s have been dedicated on certain
places like mannArgudi -thERpArai- oru-nAyakam. However, these are not a part of
108 (mannArgudi, thiru-nArAyaNapuram) .
This dhivya-dhEsam is a deemed one and is a part
of 108.
