Dear sri vaishNava perunthagaiyeer,

Recently we had a very eloquent and well-argued case on the plight of a 'great
woman', a well-explained discussion on the great mother seethaa piraatti. Here
we will see two women, actually two 'mothers' in contrast.

Generally 'women' or 'mothers', in general, are described 'love personified' -
to be very precise 'vaathsalyam' personified - [may be this Sanskrit word is a
bit unique and cannot be translated to its equivalent to near perfection like
the other word dharmam] - love showered on their own off-springs or other's
off-springs. Like
        * There are numerous examples like yasOdhaa - mother of my krishNa
        * mother sabari awaiting a very long period with vaathsalyam to
feed raama with selected fruits after tasting and checking whether the fruits
are really tasting good
        * mother anasooya who had all the 3 foremost moorthies, brahma,
Vishnu, sivan as her children feeding them with her breast milk.

During the first week of August we celebrated 'breast feeding week'. Who else
will feed the child except the mother with milk as well vaathsalyam?

Rarely we see mothers acting differently on children like
        - nalla thangaaL to kill her own children
        - poothanai committing infanticide,
        - kaikEyi asking son raama to go forest on a banishment.
That is about mothers in general. We will see now about the two mothers in
contrast.

An introduction of them:
Mother one: this mother is very wild in nature, arrogant in words and deeds,
gigantic in size, figuratively ugly, intentionally wicked, has a very bad
master, does not know what is compassion, love, sympathy, etc.

Mother two: this mother is gently soft, very attractive by all its definitions,
beauty personified, figuratively well proportioned, always well intentioned,
highly tactful, absolutely noble in thoughts and deeds, master-less,
compassionate towards all wards both 'good' and 'bad'.

About the mission of the 2 mothers:
Mother one: master, the bad one, had waves of intuition - [asareeri vaakku] -
that his position and authority is being questioned, death looming large above
the head - by a new person arising on the earth, so master calls and
commissions this mother on 'mission kill' of the arising 'enemy' - for he is
unknown about his location, capacity etc.

Mother two: as already stated since master less - nobody can command this
mother - so self commissioned on mission 'serve children'.

The cause and scene of appearance of the mothers:
Mother one: news reaches master's ears that his enemy is born. Though born
'where' is known, there are other questions like 'how, when, whether male or
female' is all secrets. Suddenly 'preceding born' sister arrives on scene and
announces with grandeur, having been caught by master in 'mission elimination'.
The master is on that mission for he thought that person is the enemy. But
receives a message from this sister 'hey foolish fellow, want to kill me, you
cannot, know your killer is born already, await the arrival of him at the scene
to remove you'.
So master in fear commissions mother one secretly on 'mission kill' by
committing infanticide since enemy in unidentifiable. Mother searches and turns
herself a serial killer of infants. Reaches to a celebrated newborn having
heard 'he is' that.

Mother two: Since her children were of contrasting characters, wanted to unify
them at least on a particular work by commissioning them on a search for
something 'valuable', thus to that extent succeeded on that great mission - '
let us jointly work for something valuable'. These wards when some valuables
sighted in the course of their work, as usual, started quarrelling in sharing
the valuables. So mother sets herself on mission 'serve children'.

Accomplishment of the mission:
Mother one: Mother reaches enemy of master who is an infant. So she
breast-feeds the enemy, thinking that is an easy way of achieving 'mission
kill'. The child is so naughty that he helps finish the mission easily.

Mother two: Mother takes control on the 'valuable' in her hand, and sets
herself out on mission 'serve children'. The distribution is to about commence
to both, the teams of good and bad wards. While mother sets herself in the
process of distribution, her physical beauty enrages the physical lust of the
bad boys in spite of the lady being their mother, thereby results are as
desired by mother.

Result of mission:
Mother one: So 'mission kill' is a total failure for the master. In the process
mother herself is eliminated and later the master. Because of the "enemy's
status" mother becomes a celebrity mother. Other wise now we have no need to
talk to about this mother.

Mother two: The second team of 'good boys' wins in the mission of 'serve
children'. Of course mother was also a lot inclined towards these wards.

Dear bhakthaas, perhaps by now, you got the signals where all these lead. See
the verse, a great one, presenting both mothers in contrast, painting a
beautiful version exhibiting the 'contrast' to its core.

vanchanai seyyath thaay uruvaagi vandha pEi alaRi maN sEra
nanju amar mulai oodu uyir sega uNda naadhanaith thaanavar kooRRai
vinchai vaanavar chaaraNar sidhdhar viyanthudhi seyyap peN uruvaagi
anchuvai amudham anRu aLiththaanaith thiruvallikkENi kaNdEnE

2-3-3 thirumangai aazhvaar in periya thirumozhi

meaning: [as given by sri madhavak kannan swamy of Singapore - taken from
message no. 6711 dated 15.3.1999 of bhakti list archives] 3. (AzwAr enjoys the
darling of NandhagOpan here!). The Lord - who sucked the life along with the
poisonous breast milk of poothanai, (demon raakshasi who had come in the guise
of a young woman to breastfeed kutti kaNNan and kill Him) and killed her and
let her fall dead on the ground; - who is the life of the world;- who is the
yama of asuraas; - who is praised and worshipped with awe at His wonderful form
and attributes by vidhyaadharar, chaaraNar, sidhdhar and all dhEvaas et al when
He took the lovely most beautiful mOhini avathaaram to distribute the nectarine
"amudham" to dhEvaas. Such Greatest Lord - I have seen in Triplicane".

Dear bhakthaas, in the process of talking about the two mothers, I 'forgot' the
fact that 'HE' the uththama purusha [purusha uththama or purushOththama as is
generally pronounced] is THE 'mother two', [uththama purusha means first person
in Sanskrit as well supreme person], the father of all we ourselves, all living
and nonliving, the very child for whose sake 'mother one' lost her life. We
will continue in post two.
