Dear Sri Vaishnavaas & Vaishnava AbhimAnis:

Satyagalam is a beautiful village in Karantaka state on the banks of
the sacred Cauvery river as she gently flows towards Her Lord at SrIrangam .

Swamy  Desikan (1268-1369 C.E)  chose this idyllic and peaceful village of
Sathyagalam twice to stay during times of severe stress in his life . He spent
number of years there with His DevikaL , KumArar and prime disciple ,
Brahma Tantra Svatantra Swamy performing grantha kaalakshEpams
and worshipping Lord Varadaraja and PerumdEvi ThAyAr , who preside over
the ancient temple at Sathyagalam. Perhaps Swamy  Desikan was reminded of
His native place of Kaanchipuram , where Athtigiri AruLALa PerumAL
( Lord VaradarAjan ) and  MahA DEvi (PerumdEvi ThAyaar ) have
their aasthAnams ,when he chose Sathyagalam for extensive stays .

In Swamy  Desikan's sacred life ThUppul , Kaanchi, Thiruvaheendhrapuram ,
Srirangam , SATHYAGALAM  and Melkote (ThirunArAyaNapuram)
served as major anchor points. The vaibhavams relating to Swamy Desikan's
stay at KarAtaka (mEl Naadu) are not familiar to many Desika BhakthAs.
Here in KarnAtakA were born the powerful AbhIthi Sthavam and YathirAja Sapthathi.
Here in Karnataka were born the two of the Five Taniyans that we use ,
when we salute Swamy Desikan . These two are : (1) SrI RaamAnuja DayA
Paathram Jn~Ana VairAgya BhUshaNam---and (2) SrIman VenkatanATArya:
KavitArkika kesaree----- .

HH SrI Rangapriya Swamy of AshtAnga Yoga Mandir , Bangalore
and HH Prakrutham ParakAla Matam Jeeyar of Mysore have dedicated
themselves to glorify the Vaibhavam of Swamy Desikan  during His stay
at Sathyagalam also known as as Sathyamangalam and Sakthimangalam
during Swamy  Desikan's time .

The power (Sakthi ) aspects of the combination of Upanishadic word Sathyam
(Sathyam Jn~Anam Anantham Brahma " and MangaLam aspects
celebrated in Maangalya Sthavam are profound , when one reflects on
the name of this kshEthram as Sathya Mangalam .

Both HH SrI Rangapriya Swamy and HH ParakAla Matham Jeeyars are patrons of
many kaimkaryams at Sathyagalam , where Swamy  Desikan blesses us all
in an unusual  standing posture ( ninRa ThirukkOlam ). The Aswattha tree on
the banks of the river Cauvery , where He performed His daily anushtAnam
(NithyAnushtAnam ) , the Koorma Peetam on which He sat  for His manthra Japams
are all at Sathyagalam from Swamy  Desikan's time until now for us to connect to
this great AchAryan .

There was not much information available until now for the larger public
about Sathyagala KshEthram .SrIman Lakshminarasimhan Sridhar,
scion of two great AchArya Paramparais ( SrI Ahobila Matam and
Srirangam PeriyANDavan Aasramam ) of Bangalore has aceepted
the niyamanams (commands ) of HH RangapriyA Swamy and
HH ParakAla Matam Jeeyar to construct a web site for Sathyagalam.

The URL for this beautiful and informative web site is:

http://www.sathyagalam.com

The many images of the dhivya dampathis of Satyagalam worshipped by
Swamy Desikan and the Ninra ThirukkOlam of Swamy Desikan and His
Thirunakshathra Uthsavam celebration  attended by HH SrI RangapriyA Swamy
and HH Parakaala Matam Jeeyar are beautiful to enjoy . The text assembled there
with clarity and creativity are remarkable.

On behalf of the Aasthika Community of SrI VaishNavAs and abhimAnis,
it is my pleasure to thank Sriman Sridhar for a most enjoyable web site
on Sathyagalam KshEhtram ! We wish him success in creating many
such web sites for the aasthika community !

Please visit this delightful web site and recieve the blessings of our AchAryAs  ,
Swamy  Desikan , Lord Varadaraja PerumAl and PerumdEvi ThAyAr of
Sathyagala KshEthram !
