Dear SriVaishnavas,
My question is very short and simple. What is the position of our acharyAs with respect to listening or studying the works of Vaishnavas not belonging to our Sampradayam?? I can be more specific: With regards to enjoying the music of Saint Thyagarajar (I head that eventually an advaitin) or Oothukkadu Venkata Subba Iyer?? As I know, ISKCON strictly forbids their followers from listening to acharyas who don't belong to the four "legal" Sampradayas, namely, Sri, Brahma, Kumara and Rudra Sampradayams. It would be great if the answers are based on pramanas and not personal realizations.
Dasan,
Kidambi Soundararajan.
