MORAL
INELIGIBILITY
When one does not have eilgibilty it may
be bacuse he is not eligible by birth or by qualification. When one does not
practise what he preaches, then they is absolute moral
ineligibility.
When one observes a fellow
SrevaishNavite in happy state of affairs, he should feel happy like a mother
seeing her offspring's welfare. This is the litmus test of 'Bhagavath sambhandham'.
'Bhagavath sambhandham mei
Agil, tham vayiTRil piRandha prajainudaiya smrithi thannadhEnRirukkumAp
pOlEa iREA'
However, Sri Ai jananAchAriyAr adds
immediately
'Are we morally eligible to talk of this;
It is like inelgibile people chanting vEdham-s'
' nAm ivvartham
sollugai-paRaiyar vOthu sollumAp pOlEa-iREA'
kEsu-kEsu avathArikai
-ThiruppAvai 7 -nAlAyirappadi
It means we, people who talk of birth as
the prime factor, ignore the greatness of devotion and the devotiees. Preaching
but not practising.
The greatness is ThirunArAyaNapuram Ai
including himself in this 'nAm ivvartham sollugiRadhu..'
then imagine our state of affaris arguing
for and against rituals. The greatness exactly lies in
Bhagavath sambhandham and not in rituals,
apparently.
