The Sixth Ten
-Introduction
AzhwAr practising what he had preached- The Lord as the
means
In the fifth ten Lord's immense Grace was
highlighted by swAmi nam-AzhwAr. Due to this Grace Lord becomes
approachable by one and all and is subject of surrender by them. AzhwAr who had
no other refuge, had the divine feet of the Lord as given out by the Lord
Almighty. However, the Lord did not show Himself in person which made AzhwAr to
send emissaries. Still the Lord did not show His vision forthwith. AzhwAr became
very frustrated and angry and turned his countenance the other way akin to a
'thalaivi' being temporarily indifferent (vUdal-praNaya rOsham) towards her '
thalaivan'.The Lord removed this indifference by showing His greatness, strength
. AzhwAr, who was not able to cherish the tenth thiru voi mozhi in the fifth
ten=being piRandhavARum= which talks about the deeds of the Lord, as AzhwAr
melted on contemplating them, enjoyed thoroughly the deeds which are narrated in
the thiru voi mozhi "kuravai Achiyar"
6-4.
While surrendering, AzhwAr withered off the unwanted things
(mAlukku vaiyam aLandha maNALaRku-6-6).
The Lord blessed one and all with His divine feet when He measured
all the worlds.
AzhwAr completely surrendered himslef to this "Lord with the divine consort" exhibiting the first
sentence of dhvyam, in the 'thirumalai' dhivya
dhEsam. ( agala killEan iRaiyum enRu
---6-10-10)
Thus, AzhwAr who had counselled, advised and preached the nature of
means, exhibited it here in this great divine feet of the Lord, practising what
one preaches.
