Dear All,

My sincere thanks to all of you for providing me with relevant details and tips on visiting Kanchi based Dhivya Desams. On the 13th Jan I visited Sriperumbudur and Madhuramangalam (Embar uthsavam). I was on my bike and I happened to go to Kanchi and visit Varadarajar temple alone and returned to Madhuramangalam for Embar thirumanjanam.

Later I went on a one-day tour of Kanchi, originating from Tambaram Sanatorium. This was on 26th Jan. We covered all DD's including Thirupputkuzhi as well as Kooram and returned back the same day.

The information provided by you all helped me to have a mental picture ahead of the trip.

The person who led this tour Sri Gomatam S Madhavachari (and his wife Smt Mythily) is also an upanyasakar and conducted upanyasams at three places. It was a memorable trip.

The contact particulars of this person is given below for others to benefit. The next tour is to Ahobilam (8th to 10th Feb)

Below are links to my photo album of both Embar uthsavam as well as Kanchi trip. I believe you'll get some idea on these DD's. The photos are arranged chronologically and in the Kanchi collection I have added comments to the first photo in each DD.

Dear All,

Could anyone tell me a tried and tested out sequence of visiting Vaishnawa Divya Desams in Kanchi? I may reach Kanchipuram, either by train/bus/two-wheeler from Tambaram. So I am not sure which will be the first temple that we would come across.

The info that I am looking for is, when I am at a particular temple, I need to know the next nearby temple. Once this chain is known, I can traverse it starting it from anywhere. I need this info mainly if I am on my own (take a bike), or hire a auto who doesn't know much.

Though my focus is on Vaishnawite Divya Desams alone, there could be some other places of interest, such as Salai Kinaru, Swami Desigan sannidhi etc. which may have tremendous importance but not in the dhivya desam list. Further in the above list include Thiruputkuzhi temple also. Also if there are any other points to note, for instance, they say if you visit pachchai varnar, you must visit pavazha varnar also and that too one first & followed by the other. Tips like these will also help, so that we can make the best out this trip.

Hope some of you, who have good knowledge of Kanchi Dhivya Desams can guide me in this respect.

Thanks,

Adiyen Ramanuja Dasan
Sridhar
