Tirumangai AzVar calls EmperumAn by
Several divine names.
Some of these names are drawn from the
actions of EmperumAn.
For example thAdALan is drawn from the Action of vulagaLandha
vrudhAnthaam.
These are special nouns and tamil is refereed as
'kAraNap peyar'.
Sometimes, AzvAr invokes EmperumAn on this name
i.e calls Him.
Here, the term is not noun but in fact invocation
- the extra stress -nedil- is given.
Here is one example
AzvAr gives the name of EmperumAn
as
thaN kudanthai kuDamAdi
ààà ààààààà
ààààààà
Here kudamADi is noun, but Tiurumangai mannan does
not speak His name here but addresses Him-àààà.
A person seleing flowers is termed as
'pUkkAran;, whcih is termed as thozhil Agu peyar.
and he is called as- pUkkArA ,pUkkArA-
Similarly, AzvAr takes the name of kuDam Adi from
Sri KrshNAs leela of kUDam Adu kUthu and calls Him
as kuDam ADE! and not
kudamAdi
ààààààà not ààààààà
(periya Tirumozhi 3.6.8)
When we chant this pAsuram
the last syllable DE-àà- is given a long
stress- àààààà .
ààà ààààààà
ààààààà...
Even today we can observe this when
stalwarts are chanting.

Thiruvali Krishnaswami iyengar
