AchArya Hrdhayam sUthram 222
contd.
The Fourth Ten
-Contd.
A."ilingathu viLambum bAhya
kudhrushti thamO nishtadhaiaiyum solli, B.Odik kaNdEr..C. At seivadhEA
vuRuvadhAvadhu.."
Summary:A. The invalidity of the
philosphies like 'linga purANam' 'samanam' 'sAkkiyam' etc. is mentioned further.
The invalidity is mentioned from the fact that these do not have vEdhic/smrithic
bases and are prone to thAmasic natures.
These do not yield fruits in the long-term or for salvation-
maRumai is also highlighted.
B.Moreover, AzhwAr sees the souls again and again entering
heaven, taking rebirths and always subject to kArmic effects. "The only means to
escape from these clutches is the Lord's divine feet. Hence, surrender unto Him"
is AzhwAr's prescription.of approaching these and the
welfare of approaching the supreme is reiterated.
C.Hence, surrender unto Him. Fall at His divine feet. This
is the only way to reach His abode. This is the only welfare for the soul.
Hence, Approach the divine feet of the Lord who had danced with blocks of
vessels on His head. Serve Him.
pAsuram-s:
A.What are the several philoshopies?
ilingathu itta purANam, samanam, sAkkiyam etc. What is the defect
in these?
They are not supported by vedhich smrithis. They are of rAjasic and
thAmasic nature. These have been created by one who desired to sing praise of
with thAmasic attributes. The person being praised and the person praising are
of both the same thAmasic attributes.
The whole world, one and all are created by the Lord Almighty. This
being so, these six non-vEdhic religions do not have any sanctiity is AzhwAr's
stress in the
"ilingathu itta purAnathErum, samanarum,
sAkkiyarum,valundhu vAdhu seivErgaLum, maRRu num,
dheivamum Agi ninRAn"----> thiru voi
mozhi 4-10-5--> The deities praised in these religions and those praising and
others are all created by the Lord Almighty and He is the God of one and
all.
"viLambum ARu samayamum avai Agiyum, maRRum
than pAl" --> thiru voi mozhi 4-10-9;--Those religions which have just
arguments bereft of any valid base, result in thAmasic states.
B. "Odi Odi pal piRappum piRandhu, pal padikAl
vazhi yEARik kaNdEr"--thiru voi mozhi 4-10-7--> The souls revolve in
several births; They reach heaven; After the good effects are exhausted they
take birth again. The cycle goes on. The bad effects transform into stay in
hell.
"karandh, vumindhu, idandhadhu, kaNdum
theLiyagillEr"---> thiru voi mozhi 4-10-3--> Even after witnessing
the Lord Almighty swallowing, creating and rescuing the whole worlds, Oh! Souls,
you have not realised the truth.
"ARRa vallavan mAyam kaNdEr adh aRindhu aRindhu
OduminEA"--> thiru voi mozhi 4-10-6-->The Lord's mystic creation is
these worldly pleasures leading to this cycle.
C."nEL kudak kUthanukku At seivadhEa"
--> thiru voi mozhi 4-10-10--> Serve to the divine feet of the Lord
Almighty.
