Sri: Srimathe Ramanujaya Nama: Dear Sri Sukumar, It is indeed considered that Periyazhvar is an amsam of Garuda. Andal says in Nacciyar Thirumozhi "meymmaip peruvArththai vittuciththar kEttiruppar". Here meymmai peruvArththai is understood to be Bhagavad Gita and Periyazhvar listened to it as Garuda, who was present as the chariot on which Sri Krishna stood. Kindly refer to the following link which has a translation of the vyakhyana avatharikai by Sri Periyavaccan Pillai for Thiruppallandu. It addresses the mangalashasanam done by Periyazhvar to Sriman Narayana. http://www.acharya.org/vyakyanam/tpallan/index.html AzvAr emperumAnAr jIyar thiruvadigaLE sharaNam adiyEn madhurakavi dAsan --- sukumar <sukumar@xxxxxxxxx> wrote: > Sri Krishnaya Namah! > > Dear Sri Kalyani Krishnamachari > > Humble Pranams! > > > This was a fantastic piece of information.
