Magnanimity
The Webster dictionary
describes magnanimity as 'Greatness of mind-generosity
of heart'
One may find in this world,
philanthrophists being magnanimous. However, the Lord's genroity needs no
proof.
It is said that em-perumAn who has
bestowed us with physique and sensory organs and elevated us from the subtle
state is in itslef a Great act of magnanimity.
The deeds of em-perumAn is replete with
magnanmous acts. Sri chakravarthith thirumagan's famous statement "inRu pOi nALai VA' is one such instance of magnanimity
where Sri rAmA permits rAvANA to go unharmed as he was
unarmed.
Can anybody forget vudayavar proclaiming
the truth at thiru-k-kOshTiyUr, despite the fact that he may be doomed to hell
or Sri kUrathAzhwAn sacrifice of his dharsan-eyes for the sake of
emprumAnAr dharisanam.
Perhaps, Sri kUrathAzhwAn appealing for
nAlUrAn's salvation is the height of magnanimity.
Our vyAkyAna karthAs have done a great
service by unravelling secrets from the capsule of srE sUkthis. But for them it
would have been next to impossible for souls like us to comprehend the true
import.
These vyAkyanam-s have highlighted
certain subtle facts which unearth emperumAn's magnanimity which
may not otherwise be apparently understood.
Shall we experience a few of
these.
