Dear Sriman Dhivakar,
visakhapatnam city very close to Simhachalam divya kshEtram, close to
the heart of Acharya Ramanuja.
I heard that divya prabandham was first printed in Telugu script.
In previous centuries (18th or 19th - dont know), there was an
Acharya called Karpuram Pattappa swami who popularized Bhagavad
Vishayam cutting across caste lines.
Recting divya prabandham is a daily ritual in the Srivaishnava
temples of Andhra and Karnataka. Like in Tamil Nadu, in these places
also qualified and interested people are not available to take up
this kainkaryam.

traders. But their elders are well versed in vedaas & agamas. Along
with this, they are trained to learn Tamil Dhivyaprabhandams. Their
women- folk, especially, are well trained in Dhivya prabandha
paasuram to sing in traditional rhythm. But their mother tongue is
TELUGU. Except pasurams of Alwars, they do not speak Tamil and even
pasurams also written in Telugu words.
