Respected Vaishnavas,

Dandavats Pranams!

Srimathe Ramanujaya Namah!

It is a humble request to all vaishnavas to kindly
allot ten minutes from their busy schedule to read
these suggestions in connection with the Divya Desam
Kainkaryam.

As suggested by Sri Sadagopan prabhu, we must be slow
and steady on the planning of divya desha kainkarayam
- slow and steady wins the race.

In the past two weeks many suggestions have poured in
and more than 75 vaishnavas represented their views
and expressed their desire to actively participate in
the Kainkaryam. More the suggestions, better the ideas
we derive; inviting views from all concerned
emphasizes the importance of their participation.

There can be a deadline for receiving suggestions and
views from everyone concerned. Senior vaishnavas like
Sri Sadagopan swamy, Sri Sudharsan Madabushi swamy,
Sri Ivk Chary swamy, Sriman Anbil Swamy, Sri Urupattur
Soundra Rajan Desikan Swamy, Sri Venkat Ramadhurai
Swamy, Sri Swamynathan Swamy of UAR (Dubai), Sri
Krishnan Cidambi Swamy of Bangalore, Sri Mukund
Srinivasan Swamy of Singapore, Tamarupa Sampath Kumara
Swamy can decide on the final date and form a steering
committee.

Below are a few of my humble suggestions -

Small groups under one roof:

It is said that in Vrndavan dham there were several
groups of gopikas serving lord Krsna and they all fall
under Srimathi Radha Rani the most significant amongst
all gopikas.

Every group had a prescribed set of services and
responsibilities to perform. These gopikastree groups
competed amongst themselves to serve the lord to the
best of their abilities and they were considered to be
divine and spiritually competitive.

Similarly, we too could have few authorized groups to
make our services to the lord better and best. It is
important that all these groups fall into one main
group. It is possible to manage small groups rather
than large groups where there are too many and most of
them would not have an opportunity to participate.
Every small group must have a leader and this service
is again changeable and so every member could have a
spiritual experience in the steering group.

It is also easy to manage finances and accounts and
the groups could present their monthly services during
the e-conferences. It is normally observed that the
intrapersonal relationships in larger groups are more
professional and impersonal, whereas intrapersonal
relationships are much better in smaller groups. This
is mainly due to the fact that all members interact to
achieve their said spiritual goals.

The Mode of operation:

Step 1: Identify groups in India who are already
involved in the divyadesa kainkaryam and financially
assist them.

Step II: Existing spiritual groups in the United
States, Europe, Gulf and South East Asian countries
could individually identify a person from India and
decide to work on one Divya Desham according to their
financial capacity. It would be better if the groups
worked on one Divya Desham at a time. After having
improved upon the identified Divya Desham to highest
standard as desired by our Acharyas, they could take
upon work on another Divya Desham. This would
certainly provide Atma Trupti derived from the service
rendered to the fullest extent.

Step III: On a certain date all senior vaishnavas
from various groups could share their services
rendered and their opinions on a common e-platform to
broaden their work and ideas. This will naturally
give kainkaryams the said exposure to other group
members.

Step IV: Where certain groups, unable to identify any
person in India they could join hands with the other
groups in other countries to achieve their objectives.

Suggestions on Issues to concentrate:

Devotees or bhagavathas are more important than the
Lord himself. Glories of the Lord reach others only
through his ardent devotees or bhagavathas and all of
us are well aware of the fact that Lord Krsna is
extremely happy when a person serves his devotees.

In olden days the kings maintained Vaishnava Brahmins
so that they could read the scriptures to them and
preach the same to the public. When there is no
Acharam and pracharam, society degenerates and
corruption persists and so generations lead an
unethical life.

Vaishnava Brahmanas are considered to be head of
society and body without a proper head is a useless
one.

The modern day kings are ignorant and do not give
importance to the maintenance of temples and his
devotees.

1. We must make an effort to improve temples and
Dhivyadesam related to Alwars and Acharyas. The Lord
is happiest when temples singing the glory of his
devotees are improved and maintained.

2. The priests in temples should be given an amount
for maintenance and their living they are now being
paid only paid Rs.1, 500/= per month and to maintain a
family one would at least need Rs. 5,000 every month.
The priest?s family should be covered with a medi
claim policy. The children of the priests if
interested must be encouraged to pursue gurukula
system of education and study the dharma shastras. A
piece of land and a nice shelter must be provided for
the priests and should be also provided with a cow if
he can take care of it properly.

3. If the priests were quite settled in life, they
would take all efforts to serve the deities in the
temples with love and devotion. The temples glory
depends upon the priest who worships the residing
deity. The groups must ensure that priests at the
temples have immense knowledge combined with bhakti
for the lord they worship daily. They must also
ensure that priest do not mechanically perform puja to
the lord which in turn reflects adversely on the
devotees visiting the temples. If all this is not
done with pure dedication to the lord, the temple has
an ambience of incompleteness.

4. There should be many Veda Paathashaalaas to
encourage children from various sects of society to
pursue Vedic education. Children are the future of
our spiritual society. Presently, many temples are
devoid of priests performing Aaradhana, aachaaram and
prachaaram and so this would continue and there would
not be even one to serve the lord at his temples ? are
we going back to the dark ages?

5. In the past, vaishnavas were financially
handicapped and thus they were forced to take to other
professions. Now by grace of the lord the scene has
changed drastically where there are enough vaishnavas
to financially contribute to the welfare of the
community. So it is our bounden duty to encourage one
of our Children to pursue complete vaishnava life
style. We should also settle down in the Divya
Deshams to actively participate in improving the
temples and vaishnava culture - Charity begins at
home.

6. It may all sound too idealistic and complicated,
the lord looks at how much effort, pain and stress the
devotees take to serve him to the highest standards
set by his Alwars and Acharyas.

Kindly forgive me for any offences committed in the
above presentation.

Yours fallen servant,
Manoram Chaitanya dasan.
