SrI:Daer Sangeetha :Garudan is found in the standing position with folded hands or in Kneeling position or with foldedhands or in flying position with the Lord on His back . He carries the Lord's sacred feet in Hispalms during Garuda Sevai to reveal those feet as our sole protection . Four forms of Garudaare seated on the walls of the temples like Taarkshyaa et al .They are for the protection of the Lord's temple .Some times Garudan will have 2 hands and other times , He will have four hands ( two carrying VishNulakshaNa of Disc and Conch) . Most of the times , He will be placed opposite the Lord and in rare cases ,He will be on the same peetam with the Lord (SrivilliputthUr , ThErazhunthUr) .Please refer to the e-books on Garudan in the Sundara Simham series ( Garuda DaNDakam) andAhobilavalli series ( Garuda PanchAsath) for more details on Garudan & His glories .V.Sadagopan----- Original Message -----From: Sangeetha SanthanagopalSent: Sunday, March 02, 2008 1:22 AMSubject: [Oppiliappan] GarudanGreetings all,
What are the different postures of Garudan that we can find? Is there any significance for each posture?
