Introduction to the 25th anuvAkam
 
This anuvAkam is an AaruNa kEtuka sayana prayer . More details on the construction of Uttara vEdhi for the sayanam,the placement ofthe stones and Kalasams , Agni pratishtai are provided .     
 
Text of the 104th PanchAti
 
Jaanudadhagnem uttaravEdheem khAtvaa
apAgum poorayti
apAgum sarvatvAya
pushkAparNagum rukmam purusham-
ityupadadhAti
tapO vai pushkaraparNam
satyagum rukma:
amrutam purusha:
yEtAvathvAvAsti
yAvadEtath
yAvadEvAsthi

PanchAti
 
Jaanudagneem uttaravEdheem khAtvaa
apAm poorayati=One should dig a pit
to the depth upto one's knee on the 
north side of Yajn~a Vedhi and fill it
with water .   
 
apAm sarvatvAya=That water is the
representative ( Pratinidhi) for all . 
 
pushkaraparNam rukmam purusham
upadadhAti iti=The lotus leaf, gold,
and the Vigraham of Parama Purushan
should be placed next.
 
tapa: vai pushkaraparNam=The lotus
leaf is the representative (stand-in)
for penance ( tapas).
 
satyam rukma:=Gold is the representative
for Satyam ( truth).
 
amrutam Purusha:=Parama Purusha Vigraham
is for immortality .
 
yAvadEtath yEtAvath vaa asti=
Wherever there is this BhAvanai,
then tapas, Satyam and immortality
stay firm .
 
yaavat yEva asti tadavarundhatE=
The UpAsakan is blessed with those
boons .

koormamupadadhAti

athO svargasya lOkasya samashtyai

AgnirvAyusccha Sooryasccha
sahasanchaskaraardhiyaa iti
VaayvaSvaa raSmipataya:

PanchAti
tadhavarunddhE=The UpAsakan will gain
Tapas, Satyam and amrutam .
 
Koormam upadadhAti= He should place
a tortoise in the water . 
 
apAm yEva mEdham avarundhE=This way,
he gains the fruits of worshipping the
essence of Jalam and worshipping it
as the representative of all entities.
 
athO savrggasya lOkasya samashtyai=
Since Parama Purushan appeared as
the Tortoise in the water , such
upAsanai eanables the UpAsakan to
gain the enjoyment of svarga lOkam
and all other pleasures .
 
apa: sarvA: asmAt asmAtita: amuta:
ApamApAm=May adiyEn be blessed to
gain fully all kinds of waters from
different places  on earth and from
the upper World .
 
Agni: Vausccha Soryasccha =
May Agni , Soorya and Vaayu dEvans
bless adiyEn with this soubhAgyam.
 
ruddhiyA sahasanchaskarE=adiyEn
engages in this powerful upAsanai
and seek their anugrahams to enjoy
long life, health and wealth .  
 
VaayvaSvA: raSmi-pathaya:=Oh
JalaabhimAni devatE with the winds
as the horses and the rays of the Sun
as Your Master !  
 
lOkam pruNa cchidhram pruNa=
Please review the construction of
this Yaaga Medai and perfect it .

yaastisra: paramajaa:
IndhraghOshaa vO vasubhirEvaahyEvEti
panchachitaya upadadhAti
paanktOagni:
yaavaanEvaagni:
tamm chinutE
lOkam pruNayaa dhviteeyAmupadadhAti
panchapadhA vai virAD
tasyA vaa iyam paadha:
antariksham paadha:
dhyou paadha:
diSa: paadha:
parOrajA: paadha:
virAjyEva pratitishtati
ya u chinamEva vEdha

PanchAti
 
yaastisra: paramajaa=May Thou fill the
intermediate spaces between the first
three stacks .
 
IndhraghOshA vO VasubhirEvAhyEvEti=
The mud pots should be filled with water
while reciting " IndhraghOshAvO
Vasubhi: purastatupadadhAth " mantrams.
The meanings of these mantrams have been
covered in the 20th anuvAkam . 
 
pancha chitaya upadadhAti=The five layers
have to be placed in this manner.
 
paanktOagni:=It is so because the Agni that
is being worshipped is of five kinds.
 
yaavAnEvAgni: tamm chinutE=whatever
the number of Agnis , all those are
worshipped and enjoyed in the Yaagam .
 
lOkam pruNayaa dhviteeyAm
upadadhAti=The second layer should be
set up with the kalasams named lOkam
and pruNai.
 
pancha padhA vai virAD=It is well known
that VirAD Purushan is of five forms .
 
tasyA vaa iyam paadha:=For Him,this
BhU lOkam is one part. 
 
antariksham paadha:=Antariksham ,
the  space between earth and the
heaven is the second part .  
 
dhyou paadha:=Heaven( sky) is the
third part. 
 
diSa: paadha:=The directions are
the fourth part.
 
parOrajA: paadha:=The tripAdh vibhUti
beyond this imperfect earth is the fifth
part ." ParO rajasE sAvatOm" is the
fourth Paadham of Chathur-pAdha
Gaayatri Mantram .Purusha Sooktam
states that the first three Padhams of
Gaayatri ( Tath Savithur VarENyam ,
bhargO dEvasya dheemahi and dhiyO
yOna: PrachOdhayAth) form one third
of the VIrAD Purushan's VibhUti and
the fourth paadham covers the rest of
His Iswaryam (tripadh vibhUti). Purusha
Sookta Vaakyams are: " PaadhOasya
ViSvaa bhUtAni ,tripAdayAmrutam dhivi".
 
ya yEtamagnim chinutE,ya u chainamEva
vEdha (sa:) VirAji pratitishtati=One who
worships this Agni and comprehends the
subtelities of this Agni properly gets
established firmly ( attains SarvAthma
BhAvam) in the VirAD Purushan. 
 
Purusha Sooktam salutes BhagavAn ,
who appeared as Virat Purushan this
way: " VirAjO ati Poorusha:".The mantra
dhrashtA rishi says: " VedaahamEtam
Purusham MahAntam" ( I know this
Mahha Purushan) ; he states further :
"TamEvam VidhvAn amruta iha bhavati"
( One who knows Him attains immortality
rigth here ) and " Tasya dEvA asanvaSE"
( For that VidhvAn , even dEvAs come
under his control). This the glories of 
VirAD Purusha UpAsanaa is extolled .
