Dear Bhagavathas, Adiyen has a question. During Bhagavath Aaradhanam, we pray to acharyas of our sampradaya as asmath gurubyo namaha: asmath parama gurubyo namaha: asmath sarva gurubyo namaha: <--- Your own acharyan------> Srimathe Vedantha Gurave namaha: Srimathe Ramaanujaya namaha: Sri Maha Poornaya namaha: Srimath Yamuna Mumaye namaha: Sri Ramamishraya namaha: Sri Pundareekakshaya namaha: Sriman Naathamunaye namaha: Srimathe Shatakopaya namaha: Srimathe Vishvaksenaya namaha: Sriyay namaha: Sridharaya namaha: Is there any special reason or significance to the fact that different sets of acharyas are addressed differently? For instance Swami Desikan, Bhagavath Ramanujar, Nammazhvar and Vishvaksenar are addressed as 'Srimathe'. Alavandar and Nathamunigal are addressed as 'Srimath' and 'Sriman' respectively. Peria Nambigal, Manakkal Nambigal and Uyyakkondar are addressed as 'Sri'. Please forgive me if I have committed any bhagavath, bhaagavatha and acharya apacharam by asking this question or if there is any mistake in it. Also, please aacept my apologies if this topic was addressed already. Adiyen Raamanuja Dasan, Raghunathan Veeravalli Climb to the top of the charts!
