Dear SrI Raghavan :

Thanks for your questions .
I have provided some answers and am
inviting others to shed additional light

The application of Paccha Karpooram
is not sanctioned by VaikAnasa Aagamam.
Yelam , Lavangam , Karpporam are recommended
for Thirumanjana Theertham .

ThirumaNN made of Paccha Karpooram is
unique to Thirumala . DakshiNa Venkataachapathy ,
Sri Oppiliappan or Nadu Naattu SrinivAsan
( Thiruvaheendhrapuram Devanathan ) or
SrinivAsa PerumAL of ANNan Koil do not wear
Paccha Karpoora ThirumaNN . They wear standard
ThirumaNN and the eyes are not covered either
for the dhruva bhErams at these dhivya dEsams .
The areas between the eyes is the location of
Aj~naa chakram , which has a very important role
in Yogic practises .

One can only speculate that Paccha Karpooram
got into the picture at Thirumalaa from the time of AnanthALvAn ,
the sishyar who volunteered to do pushpa Kaimkaryam
at Thirumala , his hitting the Lord with a crowbar in
anger and the wound on the chin of the Lord , which was treated
by the perturbed AnanthALvAn to heal the wound .
He might have applied the Green Camphor paste
with KasthUri , Sandal paste to cool the forehead of
the Lord , which might have been smarting from
the wound created on the chin and the bleeding
that had to be stopped . It is an ancient custom
unique to this dhivya dEsam , where the Lord
came to help the pregnant wife of AnanthALvAn ,
who was helping her husband in his task (earth
moving ) to create the  flower garden forthe Lord .
Other devotees and students of the customs at
Thirumala are requested to shed some light on
this Pacchai Karpoora dhAraNam at Thirumala .

The coolness of the AakAsa Gangai Theertham
is complemented by the heat extraction attributes of
Paccha Karpooram , which has been used in
medicine for a long time .

Subject: Pacha karpuram / Sripadarenu

Dear Sadagopan mama,

Adiyen Dasan, I'm Raghavan from Bangalore.
I would like to seek your inputs / answers on following information / topics

1. Why Pacha karpuram is used as Tiruman kapu for Tiruvenkatamudyan.

2. Why the tiruman kapu is covering the eyes of Lord.

3. Is pacha karpuram usage motioned in Vykansa agama shastra

4. Is there any reference to date or time when pachakarpuram was first used.

5. As we all know that Bhagvath ramanujaacharya is the Acharyan for Tiruvenkatamudyan ( Who gave the Shankam & chakram to lord ), was usage of pacha karpuram started during
    Bhagvath ramanujaacharya time

6. Is Pacha karpuram used for any other god in 108 divya desam.

Thanks for your replies & my apologies if I have made apacharam by asking these queries.

As a Srivaishanavite & bhaktha of Tiruvenkatamudyan thought should know this.

Regards
Raghavan
