Dear All:
Pranams! Due to Acharyan's Grace, aDiyEn had a wonderful day on
oct-2-not because it was Gandhi Jayanti, but because aDiyEn had
the opportunity to spend some time with few Perumals. aDiyEn
wants to share some of the anubavams during this trip.

1. The first in the list was to Singaperumal Koil in
Chengalpattu. Perumal is in gigantic posture, and has pierced
through a small hill. This is the first time aDiyEn got the
anubavam of such a big Archa roopam of Narasimhar. The very name
of this perumal itself will speak how powerful and commanding He
is.

2 Next, aDiyEn went to visit Erikatha Ramar in Maduranthakam.
Perumal and Thayar looked so beautiful that aDiyEn did not have
the heart to leave the Sannadhi. aDiyEn came to know that
EmperumAnAr had His Samasrayanam and Mantropadesam here. Seeing
this royal beauty of Ramar (unlike Krishna or any other Vibava),
it is quite natural that every one of us will feel sad in
thinking how this royal prince with his brother and wife would
have walked through the forests without Padhukas. aDiyEn was
reminded about Kakasuran (VithaganE rAmA O nin abayam) when
seeing Him along with Sita. This Perumal is believed to have
protected the village from flooding of Eri. An English engineer
had seen Him along with Lakshmanar. They seemed like ordinary
men with bow and arrow doing some little work close to Eri in
very short span of time to stop it from flooding. What a
tremendous experience for that engineer. Imagine how many births
he would have taken to wait and see Perumal.

3. Number three in the list was the anubavam of another
combination of Archa and Vibava roopam. Purushottaman, Who was
worshipped as Rama in Maduranthakam was the One who took Vamana
avatara. The archa roopam of this perumal can be found in a
beautiful Divya Desam where first three Alwars met with each
other. At the first stroke, aDiyEn was reminded about
Nammazhwar’s pasuram, Aazhi ezha sangum villum ezha by
seeing this Perumal. This perumal cannot be described with
aDiyEn limited knowledge. What can be explained about this
perumal- His abode here in archa roopam, His gigantic Swaroopam,
His Tirumeni azhagu or His compassion to Baddha Jeevatmas. This
Perumal is under Srikara Vimanam, behind Thenpennai river. He is
the One Whose Tirumeni was enjoyed as “TirukkandEn PonmEni
KandEn”. We have to run out of words to explain His
sakalakalyana gunas. This Perumal had got the fortune of being
sung by Mudhal Azhwargal (first pasuram from each One’s
work) and Tirumangai Alwar(“TirukkOvalUr adhanul kandEn
nAnE”). Thayar Tirunamam is Tirukkoval Thayar. With
engrossing swaroopam, awas confused whether to fully see Perumal
from Tirupadam to Tirumudi, or enjoy each part(for which aDiyEn
does not have enough knowledge).

4. Last, but not the least was the trip to TiruArangam. As king
Kulashekara had told in His Mukundamala (“GushyatE yasya
nagarE rangayAtrA dine dine tamaham shirasA vandE rAjAnam
kulshEkaram”), every SriVaishnavan should be longing to go
to Srirangam daily. Yes, this is about the Srirangam, our
Head-Quarters. It has been sung by all the Alwars except
Madurakavi Alwar. Acharyas have done great works here. This
Srirangam as per Thondaradipodi Alwar comes in Thrid VibhUti(not
included in Nitya and also in LeelA vibhUti). Can you all
believe that aDiyEn visited TiruArangam with out going to actual
Srirangam (quite confused??). There is another Srirangam about
10 Kms from TiruVikaraman sannadhi in Tirukkovalur. This
unfortunate big brother of Periya Perumal is in a gigantic
sayana tirukkolam. It is believed that this Perumal took this
posture after matsya avataram, and can be seen as teaching Vedas
to Brahma. Perumal rests his other hand on the shoulder of
Garudan. aDiyEn was quite surprised to know about this temple
yesterday, and still not convinced why Alwars have not sung on
this Perumal. Wondering if any work on this Perumal had got
lost. It is quite true and well accepted fact that Periya
Perumal in Srirangam is always the Emperor in our sampradayam(
taking Emperumanar from Perarulalan, and getting all the
Alwar’s mangalasasanams). He could have asked few Alwars
to sing on His big brother. This is no exaggeration. What aDiyEn
enjoyed was another Ranganathar. Again the place was
“Pennai Soozh Arangam”.

As Tiruppanalwar had aptly told “Aranganai kanda kangal
matrondrinaikkAnAvE”), aDiyEn’s trip got
over on a high note after visitng TiruArangan.

Please pardon any errors (purely due to aDiyEn negligible
knowledge)

Thanks,

ADiyEn,
Ramanan rAmAnuja dAsan
