Dear Sriman Amshumaan, Kakubha:, trishtubha:, anushtubha: etc. are right. Similarly, kakup, trishtup, anushtup, are right. North Indians say "rAm" for "rAma:". So you might have read their editions, where they may have referred to "trishtubha:" as "trishtubh". Hope this helps. This is my last mail on this. I have checked with a sanskrit scholar called Ramanujacharya known to one of the moderators, and famous in Srivaishnava circles of Andhra, and am sure of what I am writing. My statement "We are supposed to recite gAyatrI, dwayam properly..." was not aimed at you but a few others who I know cannot even recite these things properly but issue high-sounding statements with holier- than-thou attitude.
