Sri: Srimathe Ramanujaya Nama: Dear BhAgavatas, I have a question on Sri Krishna being declared a Vaishya. Sri Krishna was born to Kshatriyas (son of Sri Vasudeva and Sri Devaki) but grew up as a Vaishya amidst the Nandagopa household. Though, He would later on rule Dvaraka as a king. So, does He not become a kshatriya again? Our purvacharyas have declared that to Srivaishnavas only the Sri Krishna up to the killing of Kamsa is important. Perhaps that is why our Azhvars don't even talk much about the Bhagavad Gita. Is this the reason why we would say Sri Krishna is a vaishya? Can someone please clarify? Thanks. adiyEn TCA Venkatesan http://www.acharya.org
