>From Sri Bhashya of Bhagavad Ramanuja: The uttara mImAmsa starts as "atAto brahma jignyAsA", where the atAto is ata ata: - here the first ata is "then" and the second ata: is "therefore". That is, the enquiry into Brahman takes place sequentially after and because the first part (karma kANda) is completed. Only after completing the karma kANda, does one realize the futility of following that alone and gets into the enquiry about the Brahman. Also, the two parts (the pUrva and uttara mImAmsa) are not two separate texts, but together are to be considered as one doctrine. Therefore, one cannot ignore the first part and study the second part alone. adiyEn madhurakavi dAsan --- amshuman_k <amshuman_k@xxxx> wrote: > Dear devotees, > I have a question regarding karma kandam portion of > Vedas.
