Please pardon my ignorance due to my a-vidyaa about saastraas.
In Toronto( E.S.T ...., Day light savings time...,) i dont know about the rest
of north america), I see that the Amavasya starts from 3:40 P.M and ends the next day , same time.
Starting time of all Rahu , kethu kaalam , Kuligai , Yama Kandam .etc is very funny and they are very discrete in the timings ( example Raahu kaalam will start from 7:37 P.M to 9:07 P.M )
unlike india where we dont have to strain .., as these parameters are standard. these parameters are calculated as
per local EST timings (that`s what the local panchangam claims).
And my boss "Mr. Tim pointing" also confirms that New moon starts in the late afternoon as per his english astrology calculation.
Given this case and my innocence in saastraas (Lack of Sanskrit Knowledge) please advise what time i shall start the tharpanam.
do i have to start tharpanam after the amavaasya starts or shall i round it off to the early morning hours ( 7:30 A.M).., that is (i mean ...)before the start of Amavasya tharpanam.
a similar dilemma was in my mind ..., a day before yesterday (Amavasya) and prompting me to type because of some hindrances during the ritual.
