srimatE rAmAnujAya nama: Dear Sri Venkat: While waiting for others to comment, I would like to offer my humble response below: * As reagrds #6, it is possible that the vrittantam being referred to here is that part which occured after Seeta Piratti was separated from Chakravarti Tirumagan which in the normal case(notwithstanding that Seeta is all knowledgeable) she would not be knowing * as for #7 and #8 , we should keep in mind that here Seeta (atleast for this comparison purposes) is not considered as the all knowing Piratti but as a just an ordinary person. Afterall, Perumal himself has many times stated that in Sri Ramaavataram He has only tried to be an ordinary human being with very high morals and not of having divine powers. That being the case we should not consider Seeta to be "all knowing" here. This comparison by MudaliyandAn Swamy is to be taken in that spirit. (That way even bhAgavatha apacharam is not something which we can "accuse" Seeta of! ). That Seeta's role is like that of a Chetana caught in the midst of the ocean of samsaram, has been quoted time and again in our sampradayam * Finally, when similar comparisons have been made by poorvAchAryas and questions have been asked by people like us, our Acharyas have said time and again that everything should not be taken literally and should not look for a one hundred percent analogy. Hope this helps. I take this opportunity to thank Smt.Srilatha for having summarized and posted the gist of the talk for every body's benefit. rAmAnuja dAsi vinjamoorvenkat@xxxx wrote: srImathE rAmAnujAya namaha srImath varavara munayE namaha Dear Members, I am totally uncomfortable with the comparision as stated in points 6,7 & 8. It seems to me that, Sita was ignorant of the characters of Rama and only Hanuman explain Rama's greatnes to Her. In my opinion, never. The mahaviswAsam that Sita had on Rama was unparallelled and what Hanuman did was only to let her know that Rama is coming shortly to relieve Her. Please remember, Hanuman said this not because Sita had lost faith in Rama, but just as an information. On the other hand the comparision of the AchAryA and the chEtanA is completely different. The chEtanA, as such though a gnAni, is now a total illiterate due to prakruti sambandham and hence the AchAryA teaches the chEtanA about Sriman nArAyaNan and makes the chEtanA realize his true form, which is full of knowledge and hence realize how Sriman nArAyaNan will take him on His own without him (chEtanA) having to do anything. There is a subtle difference between this comparision of Hanuman explaining Sita and AchAryA teaching chEtanA. I request you to kindly clarify the above.
