Dear members,please accept adiyel's namaskarams.Ithank
sri.vinjamoor venkatesh swamy for his response.As i
mentioned in my previous mail,i've now posted the
ramayana thani slokam starting with "vibishana
saranaagathi".

Uddha kaaandam.sargam 16:slokam 1
"sunivishtam hitham vaakayam uktavantham vibishannam
apraveeth parusham vaakyam ravanaha kala chothithaha"

Meaning: Ravana the one induced/provoked by yama
uttered harsh words towards vibishanna who adviced
ravana with sweet words and in a manner that would
highly benefit/protect ravana.

Adiyel had given the exact tamil translation to the
members for their better under standing.
sunivishtam:sevikku iniya sol
hitham:nanmai payakka koodia
vaakyam:sotrodar
uktavantham:sonnavanaana
vibishanam:vibishananai
apraveeth:sonnaan
parusha vaakyam:kadumaiyaana vaarthaigal
kala chthithaha:yamanaal thoonda pattavanaai

As far as giving advice to someone is concerned, one
may not hear the substance if it is not sweet to one's
ears.
secondly, even if the words are sweet to hear, the
person who remains adamant, indifferent may not listen
to it,and in that case, the advice maynot get into his
head.

BUt in both the circumstances mentioned
above, vibishana framed sentence in a way that they
were not only sweet to hear but also woould percolate
into ravana's head.

Here vaalmiki rishi, expresses his great distress that
1.how could ravana become so impatient atleast to hear
such sweet words!
2.Even if he had ignored such sweet words, how could it
be possible for him to turn a deaf ear to such an
advice that was llife-saving!

Itereya aaranyakam(3-2-6)says such kind of advice
should be made only to a person,
1.who always lies at the feet of his acharyan.
2.who did atleast one year of sisrushai to his
acharyan.
It says"na samvatsara vaasine prapruyaath"

But as vibishana could not stand to see his brother
going in a destructive path, antagonizing with
rama, warned him several times about the aftermath of
his actions.

Ravana doubted vibishana's words as to whether it was
aaaptha vaakyam or not since vibishana stood far away
from ravana, neverthless, ravana must have believed
vibishana as he was none but his own brother"braatha
sva moorthirathmanaha"-meaning:brother being the
typical identity of oneself.

Instead ravana startred taunting vibishana and uttered
harsh words that were meant only to an enemy.

Adiyel would like to conclude here with first half
portion of the vyaakyaanam and will post the remainnig
part in the next mail as the reader may not have time
to go through a lengthy mail like this.

Adiyel is wholly responsible for any mistakes.
Adiyel ramanuja daasyai,
srilatha.
