Dear Lakshmi Swamin:

adiyEn yesterday referred the ThiruvallOr Mahatmiyam
released by the devasthAnams (controlled by HHAzhagiya
Singar). In that, the editor in his preface, had
quoted
about the reason for the Perumal's name as "Sri Veera
Raghavan". As given in that text,
"Actually the perumal was referred by Alwars as 'Evvul
KindanthAn'. The name "Sri Veera Raaghavan" may be
given to perumal perhaps due to the pAsuram by thiru
mangai Alwar:
"Kaasaiyaadai moodiyOdi....."
(Periya Thirumozhi 2.2.1)
"thaiyalAl mEl kaathal....."
(Periya Thirumozhi 2.2.2)

In the first pasuram first two lines and the entire
second pasuram describes about the Lord Rama.

>From the kshetra mahAtmiyam adiyEn couldn't find
any other references regarding the perumal's name
except the above one.

adiyEn,

*Comments welcome.
