Dear Swamin, Quoting Edu and AzhwAr's pAsurams are always a delight for the readers. Just awesome! Thanks for such a nice way of posting. Also, I just thought I would share with other readers, my views on the very purpose of going to temples from the Sri Vaishnavic point of view. To a real Sri Vaishnavan, going to temple, whether for leisure, or for any other purpose does not matter. The simple reason being, if we go to temple, more than us it is the lord who is much more happy to see us, the mundanes (padiyAi kidandhu un pavala vAi kAnbEnE - Perumal Thirumozhi: oonaeru selvatthu!). And the lord due to sankalpam in archA, cannot come to our home just like that. So, how does it really matter what we do in temple when the lord is actually enjoying all these;) I feel that, as we take such an approach (initially-going to temple for whatever reason), eventually the very satsangham of the temple vAsIs will automatically change us. I strongly feel, for those of us who strive to become Sri VaishnavAs, that we should be more concentrating on the lord who is waiting to see our faces rather than seeing who is doing what mistake etc! (kannimaitthu kAnbAthAr kann enna kanne? - silappadhikAram: vadavarayai!) adiyEn, rAmAnuja dAsan. --- In ramanuja@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, "Padmanabhan" <aazhwar@...> wrote: > > Dear Sri Senthil, > > I agree with what you say regarding visiting temples at leisurely pace. > > This reminds me of a small incident narrated in Edu 10-2-2 > kedumiDar thriuvAimohzi."kunRu sEar mADa .." > > Sri Parasara bhattar was just going around the Tiru-ananthapuram temple at a leisurely > pace viewing the structures and beauties around.
