Dear sirs, Hearty pranams to all. I have become a new member of this group . > I am deeply interested in Vishistadvaita philosophy . >I would like to take part in the discussions related to that. > To start with i would like to share a few of my thoughts related to that ! These thoughts are pertaining to the contemporary relevance of our sampradayams. i share this purely due to my childish curiosity. Let it not hurt anyone. >> In ancient days all the brahmans used to have tikkas(kudumy) nowadays all of us don't. >> the daily schedule of a brahman is to do sandyavandanam, take bath , prepare for the day's worship, get biksha for his food and so on ... now all of us don't. >> brahmans should not travel across the sea... like this we have big list of dos and don'ts. as the decades pass by the dos have been modified and donts have become dos after little modifications by ?! Now the question is, having witnessed this type of evolution, what is the contemporary relevance of any/most of our sampradyams in the present day scenario ? > does this discussion has to continue about the relevance of the sampradayams till we get a solution ? OR > should we have to follow them as far as possible, in order to carry the tradition to the future generations to come ? OR > Can we settle down to some common understanding of modifying them to everyone's needs ( not whims and fancies)? if any of us share thoughts regarding this i will be glad to understand better. vasaka doshaka kshandavya adiyen ptsrinivasan __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
