hari om. yes, guru means 'brihaspati', the biggest or
heaviest of the nine planets (astronomically sun is
not a planet but a star), though astrologically sun is
treated as a graha. guru has one meaning that is
heavy.

worshipping guru (acharya) or His padukas is
equivalent. about salagram tirtham, i can't answer,
since salagram is considered to be Sri Vishnu. may be
some other members can throw more light.
