The only way to overcome the addictions such as alcohol/tobacco etc is by 
getting addicted to a bigger one or the biggest one which is nothing but Lord 
Krishna who gives everlasting bliss. This is possible only by knowing the 
following
The Ananthakalyana gunas of Lord Krishna
and our undetachable relationship with Lord Krishna
and our survival - every fraction of a second is due to Lord Krishna

The above can be best understood through our Acharyas and Azhwars and their 
works.
