  SRIMATE RAMANUJAYA NAMAHA
1)Each species can be categorised into three groups like satvic, rajasic &
tamasik.
In human beings we come across these types of persons.
In animal kingdom too cow, horse etc. are satvic, lion, tiger etc. are rajasic &
pig,dog etc. are tamasic.
Similarly in vegetables also ,this classification is possible.Onion, garlic etc.
are tamasic.
Persons ,who would like to progress spiritually ,should refrain from taking
tamasic food.
It is said in a upanishad that our mind is a product of our intake.

2)What you are practising during the periods is the right thing.Do not bother
about others.Let us follow the tradition. It will always do good.Rest is
necessary during this period. In those days no one will take food without
offering to lord.Hence cooking was forbidden.Infection is possible &
untouchability was practised.

3) Tiruman is not plaster of paris. It is a white rock(sweta mritika) obtained
naturally from earth & processed.
