Dear Sri Sampathkumar:

It was interesting that you pointed out the omission of "Sri Ranganatha" 's
name in Tiruppavai. Your answer that in olden days the bride would
not even mention the name of her bridegroom is correct. I still remember my
grandmother would say indirectly "ask Ezhumalayan" instead of Srinivasan
which was her husband's name.

I find in one place Andal indirectly mentions Srirangam. In the Pasuram
"Ellae ilankiliyae innum urangudiyo", she starts with "ellae ilankiliyae",
because she sends the message to Sri Ranganatha thro Kili. If you happened
to visit Sri Rangam, there is mandapam called "Kili Mandapam", where Sri
Ranganatha will be brought for Utsavam. The temple authorities were keeping
parrots there for a long time, but they were prevented by animal lovers not
to keep parrots there. Now a toy parrot is kept there. I see Andal's
Thiruvullam of sending her message of love to Sri Ranganattha. This is one
of the reason, in our temple Utsava Kodha always carries "Kili" on her
shoulder.

Nereur Rajagopalan.
