Chintanacharya for the sishyas.

Swami is well known for his intellect right from his college
days and is reputed for his sound thinking and original
contributions to explain Sastras with more clarity. Profound
knowledge in Vedanta texts like Sri Bhashya and also
Divya Prabandhas and Rahasya works, apart from Ithihasa Puranas
as well, makes Swami a distinguished Ubhaya Vedanta scholar with
a rare blend of knowledge from varied fields. The prestigious
title "Saara Saaragnya" (Commander Of Quintessential Knowledge)
conferred by Sri Injimettu Azhagiyasingar reveals Swami's higher
stature in the galaxy of scholars.

Detailed commentaries to Sri Bhashyam and Thiruppavai, reveal
Swami not only as one with excellent scholarship but also as
an adept in writing. Swami is well known for his unique lucid
discourses reaching even the layman with ample clarity. In the

Satabhishekam Celebrations

Swami's Satabhishekam (Maasi-Poorattaadi; 4th March 2003) is
being planned to be celebrated in a grand manner for atleast five
days, befitting Swami's great scholarship and service to our
sampradayam. Moreover, service to Bhagavan through serving Acharyas
and Bhagavatas is said to be much more superior than even the
direct service to Bhagavan - this being one of the corner stones
of our sampradayam tenets. Hence, this is an oppurtunity for all
of us to get together and honour this mahan, thereby deriving
his blessings and as well as that of Divya Dampati.

In accordance with the tradition, Parayanam of the sacred Vedas
with its different branches by respective vidvans will be one
of the highlights of the celebration. While special feasts in the
form of thadiyaradhanam will be there to delight one and all,
Hari-Katha upanyasams and chorus singing of devotional songs shall
become the feast for the ears. A day long grand vidvat sadas on
Sri Bhashyam will be conducted to honour numerous vidvans.

A Souvenir with excellent content value will be released in
commemoration of Swami's Satabhishekam. As per the wishes of
Swami, the Souvenir will have many articles written by around
twenty five eminent scholars on selected Upanishads viz. Isa,
Kena, Kata, Prasna, Mundaka, Mandukya, Taittiriya, Mahanarayana,
Aitareya, Svetasvatara, Mantrika, Maha, Ashtakshara Narayana
and Dwaya, and also on Purusha Suktam, Uttara Narayanam, Sri
Suktam and few other Veda mantras, apart from a comprehensive
introduction to Veda-Vedanta.

It has to be noted that, this is for the first time such a
collective effort has been made to make the esoteric teachings of
the holy Upanishads with sufficient explanations be available in
tamil for the understanding of even a layman in Vedanta. These
valuable articles are not word-by-word translations but will bring
out very well the salient teachings without leaving any issue
addressed in each of the Upanishads. The articles will also be
enriched with profound thoughts and arguments for the right
understanding of important passages in Upanishads, as explained
in Classical texts of Vedanta like Sri Bhashya and its commentaries
etc, for the serious students of Upanishads. This Souvenir will
certainly be a very valuable companion for anyone interested in
Vedanta.
