OM
PRANAAMS AT THE LOTUS FEET OF ALL THE BHAGAVATHAS.
ATMA, as one belonging to to PARAMATMA is infinite when measured in any
dimension , may it be by TIME , SPACE AND CAUSE. So, Once distinguished as the
SELF and not the BODY , ATMA /JIVA AS AN ETERNAL ENTITY, IS undoubtedly beyond
anything conceivable , including TIME.
That is what Our Acharya commands me to convey as a reply to this NOBLE QUIRY.
OM NAMO NARAYANAYA.
SRIMATHE RAMANUJAYA MAMAHA.
AZHWAR EMBERUMAANAAR JEER DESIKAN THIRUVADIGALE SARANAM.
With regards,
Adiyen Ramanuja Dasan - Kombur Vankeepuram Madhavan.

My two cents:

Since there is no beginning or end for jIvA per se, jIvAtma is eternal.

During each cycle of "birth" and "death", a jIvA either makes a steady
progress towards liberation (mOksA) or falls behind. Given that, physical
aging is indeed a passage of precious time for the jIvA as well. Whereas
"time" runs out for the physical body, the clock is simply reset for the
jIvA to begin yet another pursuit of "true" knowledge.

Sriram

Subject: [SriRangaSri] Question on Time

Respected Devotees,

As a jIvAthma situated in the body, I am a witness to the passing
Time.I see day and night and seasons and years pass by!
I am also a witness to the changes in my body with Time. This implies
that I as a jIvAthma should be stationary with respect to the passing
Time! So am I as a JIvathma beyond Time?

I eagerly look forward to devotees and scholars to enlighten me.

Iti SrI Acharya pAda rEnu,
Suresh
