Jai Ramanuja,
It is rightly said that SRI RAMANUJA is addressed as SWAMI.Swa means the belonging & swami means the owner. This gets translated as UDAYAVAR in Tamil meaning one who owns the UDAIMAI.Hence SRI RAMANUJA is addressed popularly as UDAYAVAR by srivaishnavites.

Dear sri madhura kavi dasan,
Thank you for this piece of information. I was really not aware of
this before. I have always heard only the popular -- "bhagavath
ramanuja". Sri Perumbudur being Ramanuja's birth-place might have of
course its own local customs.

Regards,
dASan,
Sudarshan
