Dear Bhagavatas:
I agree with Sri Narasimhan.
"Yad yath" means "Whatever".
Yath-thath" means "What-That"

Sri Rajagopalan swamy,

I have been taught 'yadyath' and not 'yath-that'. I think your grammar point is
not correct, for Swamy Deshikan has used 'yadyath kamyam sapadi labhathe....'
in Bhusthuthi.

dear astikas, pranamam. it is usual to recite at the end of sahasranama
paryanam-the lines---kayenavacha--------- narayanethi samarpayami..most
publications print the words as yathyath and not as yath thath. Whichis
correct.grammar requires that if yath occurs in a sentence thath mus follow in
the line.ya,yath etc. do not occur as such..please clarify. sri
