Srimathe Ramanujaya Namaha:
Dear Srimathi JayaSree Ramanujam,
My Pranams. Honestly I don't think I can answer the "Why" part of this
question. Puranas and Itihasas probably highlight the significant
characters. Let me hasten to add that others not mentioned are not
insignificant, especially members of the fairer sex. True we do not hear
about any daughter of Lord Rama or Lord Krishna. But one should infer from
the fact that since Lord Krishna had many wives, He should have had many
children and there is a distinct statistical possibility that some of them
belonged to the fairer sex. According to Puranas, of the 9 Avatarams of
Emperuman in only two Avatharams did He have children.
However in some Puranas daughters are said to have been born to Emperuman
Lord Narayana. It is said that the two consorts of Kartikeya (Valli and
another) are the daughters of Sri Maha Vishnu. Again Urvashi the Divine
Nymph was born from the Uru(s) meaning thighs of the Lord, hence the name
Urvashi. If we delve into Puranas we may get more examples.
However we are all sons and daughters of Emperumaan at the same time.
At a higher realm there is no distinction between the two genders. In
Vaishnava Siddhanta, especially that which is called Sri Sampradaya or Sri
Ramanuja Darsanam, the Jeevathmas have no gender attributed to them. They
are just Jeevathmas and when they descend into the earthly plane they take
the body of a man or woman according to their past karma phalam.
Jai Sriman Narayana,
Adiyen,
Ramanuja Dasan
