It is fact; and you may please confirm it by referring to the "anusAsana-parva" of the MahabhArata. BTW, if you are a regular reciter of the Vishnu Sahasranamam, you should be quite familiar with the prefatory shlOkA-s beginning with Yudhishtara's questions "kim ekam daivatam lOke ...". If Sanskrit is your problem it can be overcome by either referring to a good English/Tamil/Telugu translation or else seeking the help of someone knowledgeable about the Sahasranamam.
