radhegovinda
namo narayana

dear bhaagavatas,
another one of surdas's poems ...

On the night of autumn when the full-moon was up, Krishna went to the Yamuna-bank and played on his flute. When the notes of his pipe fell on the ears of the cowherd girls of Braj they became restless, and could restrain themselves no longer, and hastily wearing their ornaments all in the wrong places, went out of their homes. Those sixteen thousand girls caring nothing for the love of their husbands and sons, hastened to Krishna. One girl, who was prevented by her husband to go away, relinquished her body. The Lord Hari in his mercy cast his gaze on her and she attained moksha. Says Suradasa, so should all persons get rid of attachment to worldly ties, and keep chanting the name of Krishna.
